Got the engine taped off, and put on the primer after heating with a propane burner and a wipe down with acetone. Then this morning, I finished off taping a couple other areas I missed, and commenced with applying the Motor Coater. I see one thin area I missed, but that will have to wait a week...- ChuckN

Th350 shift kit help
Nick was pretty helpful when I was asking about this stuff. I installed a Transgo kit on mine and it shifts really nice but no neck snapping 1-2 shift. It was very doable with the transmission in the truck.- ChuckN

If you’re looking for medium blue that pops in the sun, the ‘81 Code 30 Nordic Blue (my stock color) is really nice. Not too dark in the shade, but with the little metallic in it, the sun lights it up a bit.- ChuckN

What have you done to your square lately??

@Craig Nedrow nice! My main clearances ended up being .0027. So that’s what I’m working with. On his advice, I did pick up a Melling shark tooth. It’s 10% above stock volume and comes with different springs to set the pressure bypass to what I want. Scott at the shop called me today, and...- ChuckN

Which Melling unit did you go with? I was looking at the standard 55HV/155HV but the machine shop doing some of my work suggested a 10552 when I called them. In that family there are five different variations,just curious as to what you chose.- ChuckN

The recommendation of the rotating assembly was for a Melling 55HV (high volume, 5/8” inlet). But everyone is telling me that high volume is a waste of time and money. I’m guessing that with them not knowing what clearances are, the manufacturer erred on the side of high volume, but if anyone...- ChuckN
