    Got my parts in. Remove seat to pull up carpet for making holes. Got transmission pretty clean and ready for paint. Removed old input shaft bearing. New bearing going in soon then gaskets.

    I ordered that 32 spline shaft . I also ordered transmission input shaft bearing, transmission gasket/seal kit and oil. Time to start cleaning parts up. Hopefully be starting in on it Saturday. And thank you for the help. Not knowing about spline count difference would have set me back later on.

    Thank you for the refresher. I knew that once but totally forgot. Anyways, that 208 i have on my r4 is likely to be a 27 spline 208? Or is my R4 32 spline?

    it is a 208 C. Does the C mean something? If this doesn't work I might have another. Maybe.

    And your correct. I love this place lol. I just counted 32 spline. I must have a 241 then. Now I have to start digging for another transfer case. Here's some pictures of the trans and adapter

    yes they were. Trans and adapter is from a 1984 K10 suburban. Im using the t-case my truck currently has. Good point. Ill check splines soon. Ordering transmission gaskets today.

    Ill post progress when I can because My transmission took a dump yesterday so I'm about to start a manual swap because I need my daily back. Maybe ill make a thread for that because ill probably ask a few questions and want pictures of linkage setup so I can do it right.

    Yeah, Its happened to me before. Sealing surface on master gets rust pitted and won't seal again till its resurfaced.

    The 2n sits because it has #1 dead cylinder. Found these of the power master doing what it does. I use this tractor allot.

    Ill try to get pics later. Tisco and others have the gray paint. But I found rustoleum has one called pewter gray that looks really good on these. New Holland owns the rights to the Ford tractors and colors I believe. Do you know what year they went blue?

    Great thread! I have done quite a bit to these old tractors and have a 2N and power master 800 myself. The only fords allowed in the fleet lol. They are fun to work on and not too expensive. Any plans for paint or touch up?

    Ive ran into this myself. Soak up, suck out, or blow out the brake fluid and Stuff a rag in the master and use a flap disk on a 4-1/2"grinder to resurface the sealing surface. Clean out and replace brake fluid and that should take care of it. Or maybe dry it good and smooth a thin coat of gasket...
