    Quick sidebar on this SPID: note that the front and rear tires are different. XLB = front tires, hwy YLC = rear tires OOR ZLC = spare OOR That's why we released them that way (X = front, Y = rear, Z= spare) so that the customer could have different tires front, rear and spare (or no spare). K

    It holds the front brakes off until the rear shoes can take up the clearance and contact the drum. On the brake chart is is called "metering" (the characteristics of the proportioning are called "metering", "split" and "slope"). K

    Looks like it was built in Fremont ("Z" in the VIN). Model decodes as T = GMC nameplate C = 2wd 1 = 10 series 1/2 ton 07 = short wheel base 03 = 2 door regular cab

    I can see pics. I am reminded I am the guy that requested GM Powertrain kick that throttle body attachment up at an angle. We had to be able to get past the engine cooling fan and accessory drive so we could mate up our air cleaner ductwork on the truck models. K

    In order to validate vehicles for FMVSS105 and 208 (so that we could sell them to the public) we had to run tests in both 2wd and 4wd. There was no measureable difference in terms of stopping distance. K
