cargo light/ 3rd brake light install

Do you have a dome light inside? You can see what’s back there. It’s not scary. Measure twice, cut and drill once.

Someone probably has this memorized. But I’d find one of each that works and then go to the hardware store with a list

    Brainstorming layout..

I thought about doing something similar. And I never mount an amp that’s getting worked hard without a standoff of some sort. But this amp is overkill for what it’s doing (only pushing a pair of 4x10s and 3.5s) and the gain is dialed back a bunch and it don’t get very warm (or used frequently/...

    Brainstorming layout..

Yup all the old rules regarding electricity and signals still apply. Although quality rca cables would likely be fine. Just a thought, for the amp in the 86 I was going to hard mount it and after setup and testing with it sitting on the carpeted floor under the middle of the seat, I decided it...

    Upper Door seal question

It will make no difference like you said. Question is do you need them? First new door seals are generally too stiff on properly aligned doors. No need to add to that minor issue. Second, my 77 has those, all seals original. 86 does not have the secondary seal and has newer door seals that...

    Wood bead seat cover

They gotta tie in just like any ole seat cover. Bench or bucket is irrelevant. Buy one on Amazon and if you don’t like it, return it. Not a lot of additional info or consternation needed.

Is this for the nostalgia effect or therapeutic effect? Cause wood bead seat covers came right outta left field here. Since I presume you’re not wearing flip flops driving a turban suburban…

How much paint do I need?

Of what? Base, clear, or both? And painting just the exterior sheet metal is less than half the area of the entire truck.

How much paint do I need?

Friends don’t let friends rattle can or bedliner paint jobs Unless you’re going to just dust it with enough black primer to make it not look like a patchwork pony. To answer the question though. ALOT of rattle cans.

    Wtb: old license plates

That’s not the Midwest way! Most of the reason I now have a big license plate collection is dad used to save license plates. Back then got new plates every year. Most of them were used for rust repair.

1991 suburban sunvisors in 1987 pickup? Will they fit?

The appear to be aftermarket conversion, unless GM changed it up in overtime in the squarebody game. Can’t say for sure, but if they mount the same then they’d obviously work.

Widest tire using stock 15x8 rallies

I had to look it up. Maybe that’s a thing enforced east of the Mississippi. Kinda like lifts, bumper height, tire poke, truck and trailer weight and modified exhaust/emissions…..unfortunately.

Early squares. Wanna go h4? Toyota has a killer deal

Well, I’ll be able to tell myself I suppose. Just ordered a set for the 77 and a set for the Jeep. The Lakeland dealer was $21 shipping for 2 sets. $14 for 1 set to WA.

Are they basically equivalent to the top of the line seealed beam halogens?

Early squares. Wanna go h4? Toyota has a killer deal

Yup. The Lakeland dealer is $14 shipping to WA single set. $21 shipping for 2 sets. So not double from there anyways. I got 4 good working headlights on my 2 round light vehicles but gonna give them a shot for that cheap.

Early squares. Wanna go h4? Toyota has a killer deal

Even with the shipping it’s less than half the price of parts store halogen sealed beams and you get relays and the harness.

Early squares. Wanna go h4? Toyota has a killer deal

Wow thanks for sharing. I’m gonna look local dealers as shipping is a bit much. But a cool upragde for sure. @Burkee1483 have you installed a set yet? Looks like 70W halogen so should be pretty bright.

    Suburban Lightbar Installation and Advice

I’d consult any of the numerous available online sources for understanding wiring and current draw, relays, switches etc. wiring up a light bar is pretty basic but the explanation is long and available without us typing books of directions. Fleetside bed sides different?

Wondering if my 77 add in tank is/was a dealer add on. Sounds the same as yours. Complete with a janky hole cut in the wrong place to match up an OE tank.

    Gas tank replacement, 16 gallon

Fair enough. Someone may have a bead on aftermarket gas tank finishes, but in reality, buy the cheapest one and burn a splash of whatever chassis paint you have and make them match. JMO.
