    1977 Heavy Half fender emblem

75-80 according to Googler. I feel like I’ve seen older than 78 but ??? Maybe 75 first year F44 package but no stickers? Brochure lists big10 specs for 77. Didn’t look at earlier.

Who knows auto insurance? Ins outs loopholes

Insurance has nothing to do with the driver. It’s thru the registered owner unless they are the same person. Been a week, police report should have a bit more detail on who what when where and it will list the reg owner if the car is/was registered recently. Again, hope your son didn’t give...

Worth purchasing 1976 c10 silverado in fair condition for $2500?

Conditionally sounds like a good buy, but “fair” condition is subjective.

    1977 Heavy Half fender emblem

Eh, certainly not an expert but I think the F44 gvw trucks don’t all get the bed decals. I’m not aware of fender emblems at all but Icbw. My 77, original paint is a F44 truck (8 leafs, 1.25” disks, heavier gvw. It had/has a couple different non factory stickers on it guy put 8000gvw stickers...

Water mist cooling and an easy up ???

Misters don’t provide near as much cooling if it’s humid out. It’s the evaporation rate that make misters / swamp coolers effective. Being in KS iirc, you may not see the best effect. That’s why you only see swamp coolers where the humidity is very low when it’s hot out. The least of your...

    Need a hood measurement please.

My 77, never been apart, original paint as well, could stick your finger in the gap in one side and the other is about half as much. Perfection in body gaps is not my goal, well, at least until a bunch of other life goals are accomplished and leave me searching for more things to be OcD about...

    New daily driver

Afaik all 6.1 and 6.4 SRT8 Hemis are orange from the factory. Our 2006 and 2016 were/are. Supercharged 6.2s mostly orange in as standard Hellcats. Some black or red though depending on model (demon, red eye, super stock).

Interesting. What’s cya? UIM? Are you saying your full collision coverage on your $60k truck didn’t pay the rest?

Just looked at the 73 truck brochure. You familiar with Deezos Garage online? They have all the vehicle brochures. Looks like Cheyenne Super was wood grain dah bezel with wood grain door panels. Cheyenne had wood grain doors black bezel. So if it’s not a Super then I’d say it’s correct.

Understandable. Wasn’t being judgmental. Good news is it’s not on your insurance record. However Id be leery of putting mom on your policy if you’re in the same household. For obvious reasons. Although now car ins rates not only follow your age, claims and driving record but also credit...

Who knows auto insurance? Ins outs loopholes

That sounds unfortunate from almost every angle. And while collision coverage would probably double your policy $, it sounds like you were unaware your truck wasn’t covered. Beyond that it’s a risk decision on the value of the vehicle or more accurately the value to you personally vs the cost...

Saw that. And the original plastic carpet covering. Was one of the things that supported the low miles and care of the 77 I bought. A nicely yellowed almost 50 year old piece of plastic. That went straight in the trash but was evidence of originality.

@Ricko1966 I hope your son did not provide his insurance info for the police report. Big mistake if he did. NEVER let your info get on the police report. Regardless of the situation. Take the no proof ticket if they issue one. It’ll get dropped 100% of the time if you actually had ins on the...

Who knows auto insurance? Ins outs loopholes

Can confirm. And some insurance companies are more prone to liability mitigation at the expense of their customers than than representing their customers and doing on the right thing. You can find a couple recent stories I posted about that.

Not givin it away for sure. But 1st year 454 original half ton, yeah it’ll bring some big bucks. There are zero indications I see that the truck isn’t 100% original (minus new exhaust, seat maybe, etc). Paint as well. After zooming in multiple photos where you’d likely see some evidence of a...

Unusual way to bleed brakes. Just might help someone.

Thanks for sharing. As you confirmed it works well. Aside from being a bit messy. As I haven’t lived in the rust belt nor dealt with vehicles that are rusted upon 30 years, it’s never come up. But used to do that when necessary back in the day.

    Drip edge Replacements

Those’ll weld up lickety split. Besides you haven’t painted the truck yet. Drill now or after paint. Same difference. But I wouldn’t drill until you have the set you’re using in hand. Save having to drill the trim pieces or put more holes in the truck.

Early squares. Wanna go h4? Toyota has a killer deal

They too are plug n play on this but the headlight retainer rings were so tight I had to press them on with a vice! Hooked up the relays too. Also easy plug n play. Will see how nice they are once I get the new gas tank in it. Finally ordered one and ripped out the original one that has been...

Got 2 sets yesterday! Just the Toyota quality packaging was worth the price of admission lol. Can confirm plug n play. Didn’t wire up the relays yet but they are slightly brighter than the old OG sealed beams. One of which looked like it was from this century and the other from the 20th...
