Assume those are aftermarket doors because the fit (mostly the top of the A Pillar) is fugly but looks like the doors is bent.- Grit dog

I don’t even remember what ones I bought. But iirc, there isn’t like a good, better, best. Back in the day we’d just make em out of a little piece of steel angle. -

Front brake pads ceramic or semi matallic
Nothing wrong with Powerstop. I use them more because EBC and Hawk are so damn expensive. Not the full kits but pads and the 2 sets of rotors mentioned above.- Grit dog

Ya I kinda beat on vehicles from time to time. Only 2 “newer” vehicles I’ve put rotors on since I’ve started using ceramic pads was a Mustang GT, no idea what pads it came with and A SRT 8 at about 150k miles running ceramic half those miles. Last 3 trucks 150k, 190k and 135k on the current...- Grit dog

Surface rust. What are the best practices?
Are you unfamiliar with them? Just google them, there are a couple different styles if you don’t want to make your own. And I’d install them asap on any straight clean 70s hood. Spend $25 and like 20 min to almost ensure you’re not gonna crease an OE hood is cheap insurance. -

I didn’t think trucks got Vortec heads in 94 as they were still TBI until 95? Good to check though. Idk if the cars were Vortec earlier in the 90s or went straight from TBI to the LT1 (big cruisers like the Caprice and Roadmaster)- Grit dog

Engine/Trans help
A 390hp engine is 0hp when sitting still idling and way less than 390 at partial throttle. Get the engine you want and be easy on the skinny pedal until you do the trans, imo. The engine should last you “forever” and you already said you have plans for the trans in the future, so why get the...- Grit dog

Best budget lift
^This is how to dooo it on a budget. Decent Skyjacker gas shocks are bout $50/ea and the front can be an added leaf or if you prefer, Zero Rate from ORD would add an inch with the ability to relocate the front axle forward now or in the future.- Grit dog

To buy or not to buy, for daily usage.
On snow? I believe you in general, but real world, not trained test drivers, on snow/ice having both axles locked together makes it easier to not lock up the wheels in low traction situations. I’d say the same applies now as well to the newer technology ABs/traction/stability control. It’s not...- Grit dog

Sounds about right for the Hoe on stock ish size tires. Nice. If you shim out your bottom door hinge a smidge (it’ll raise the latch slightly) and get the latch to clear the striker there it will close even smoother.
