    Brake drum adjusting hole cover

Millions (guessing) of drum brake rubber adjuster plugs bed in service. They don’t melt.

    Brake drum adjusting hole cover

Ya but have you seen his rig? Unlikely he’s cooking the brakes down a hill. And if he does, new plugs are $3 a piece and the least of the issues that day!

    Old school hub caps

Search local for sale parts on CL and FB too. In the PNW at least, there are quite a few out there for sale. And the Chevy 5&6 spoke solid caps like you posted are the most common and reasonably priced. Because there were orders magnitude more produced than other. 4wd front caps are less...

    New fella sweet truck!

I might not install a chile lol, but OP should install a choke for sure. Good that you saw that. Maybe keep OP from beating on his engine like he is.

Your favorite old car/truck that you regret selling!

Got a 77 but I haven’t sold it. Don’t plan on it. Have had it kicking around for 20 years now. Yours looked mich nicer. This one is still in 1974 paint Just loaded it up and hauled it to the new house today. And wouldn’t ya know the brakes broke when I took it for a drive. One front brake just...

    454 Timing

The good news is it’s easy to adjust and see if there’s anything left on the table. But my theory with non hi performance engines. Especially old ones with old parts is if it runs good, starts easy, doesn’t backfire out either end, doesn’t ping and doesn’t diesel then it’s just right.

Lund Visor’s…if ya got one how did you install it?

They don’t fit that well to even begin to trust 3M tape. Not even a viable option with this piece imo.

Vapor Barrier behind new door panels?

Gotcha. Sound deadening material. I was trying to equate what you were saying to this thread about vapor/wind barrier. I had no idea they used to make an adhesive piece of plastic like you posted above. Makes sense, the 86 has air coming thru the drivers door handle. Odd that it’s only that door...

Lund Visor’s…if ya got one how did you install it?

If I had the time, at the time, I would have used nut serts to reinstall the visor on the 86. As it was I got some larger stainless screws and some rubber washers and a little rtv and just screwed it back down thru the existing holes. Some with redneck helicoils. (A piece of copper wire to help...

    454 Timing

Have you actually checked the timing? Not sure what you’re looking for here. Like the guys above said, the right timing is the right timing and that differs based on a dozen different things. Base timing is one thing. Total advance and timing curve is completely different and also or even more...

No it’s a low option Bighorn with night package. ( black emblems and wheels) It’s just smooth. Engine feels the same as 4th gen deleted SO with a tune. Hard to tell it’s fast because there’s no fanfare and little noise.

No koolaid here. Best overall price between WA, OR, ID and UT dealers. Coulda done $3k better with WA resident incentives but couldn’t title it in MT with my son if I bought in WA. Overall it was the best deal by far (including lack of sales tax). I hate dealing with car dealers in general and...

Me and the kids have had a thing for Nardo gray for a while. Ram calls it Ceramic gray. There is no std/HO/68/Aisin anymore. All HO with 8speed ZF trans. 3.42 only gears. Med duty Powerline not 8HP but it drives and shift like a 8HP. Like butter!

Vapor Barrier behind new door panels?

What exactly are yall trying to accomplish by hanging a piece of plastic inside the other piece of plastic? (The door panel). Trying to figure out the roi on something like this. Seems pointless imo.

Stone shields for front of rear wheel 1986 K10

I’m sure you’re looking for the look or appearance but if you can’t find any that fit right, you could maybe get the look and protection with some chrome/stainless vinyl wrap and then top it with clear film if wanting protection too.

Stone shields for front of rear wheel 1986 K10

Ok ya those look like they hook under 70s trim IE too short for 80s trim trucks or not right for any truck that don’t have 70s trim.

Man, I wouldn’t reassemble. Throw a couple head bolts in the block thru the ends of a length of chain and getter. Assuming you’re not pulling with the trans attached.
