    My apologies. With 2 power window squares in the last half dozen years, neither has had the retainer screws on any of the switches. Didn’t know they existed but I guess that is what the long stud that protrudes thru the plug is for. Ya I wouldn’t worry aboot it.

    No, the tanks are not connected to each other. That would be suicidal. Lol But now you know that, switch the lines at the solenoid and pull gas from the full tank. Easier than siphoning out 20 gallons imo.

    I don’t think your coolant leak is related to the title of your thread. Vac canister in its simplest form, vent from tank to canister. Vent canister to carb base. Honestly don’t think it’ll save you enough in fuel mileage to notice.

    Which type of nozzle? That is significant in your diagnosis or lack of an actual issue with the truck. And whether it is actually vented or not. It’s an old truck. I’m all but certain by the 80s all were 3 port fuel senders but doesn’t mean it still is today.

    Doesn’t matter which side is primary for filling purposes. Assuming it’s original type configuration, newer vapor recovery nozzles are super finicky to get gas into these tanks. Old style normal nozzles work fine. Likely your issue? I can fill any of the 4 square body tanks with a new style...

    I don’t think I’ve ever seen a drum brake backing plate without an adjuster hole. GM or otherwise. I’m sure they exist but commonly there’s a slotted hole on drum backer plates.
