    Truth! I haven’t done that but have noticed that anything that makes the filler hose less sloped makes fueling more difficult. The 77 is actually a bit easier to fill than the 86. But the 77 still has factory suspension rake where the 86 is effectively leveled. I did try fill up on the 77...

    True story. And they don’t pull well unless you overfill them above the 35-40psi max load pressure. Quick easy test is air them up to whatever load/pressure you’re anticipating going to and take em for a drive, loaded. They will behave similarly based on pressure.

    Same thing as above. Anything less than a 16” wheel and you’re not going to find a heavy rated car/truck tire. (Except those obscure European 225 sumthin or other 15” Commerical tires). 14” nothing exists.

    While it’s cold out find a diagram of the switching valve so you know which port it is. Sounds like your truck is like many where the fuel tank switching system was neglected and rigged for…whatever reason.

    @edgephoto had the best response in 3 pages of replies. Fix the hole, slap in an antenna windshield and a new cord for it. Cheap and easy and not even double work since the windshield should certainly be removed before paint. Less than $150 fixes the antenna issue. 2 hours of body work fixes...

    You’re doing all that work and left a gaping hole in the fender? Just patch it now. It’s in primer. Not sure what you mean by past the stage of being able to fill it. Easy fix. Ugly hole to stare at for the next 20 years.

    Based on the asking price I’d say not. Owner smoked it all before he made the for sale signs…. That’s a pretty fugly grungy truck for $3k. Guessing the interior and engine bay are as “period correct” as the exterior.
