M1008 CUCV needs a new radiator

If you wire brush, and then hit it with some alcohol, and then apply a generous amount of Permatex, it will seal it up for sure. Not just a light coating - you need 1/2 inch or so thick. Then let it sit for at LEAST 3 or 4 days due to how thick the Permatex is. Once that stuff is dry, it will be...

1987 V10 with carb and dual tanks will not stay running

Are both your tanks running on the same relay? If that's the case, I would swap that relay with another from the fuse box. If its the same relay for both tanks, then its possible that it could account for this, if the relay is overheating when in use. Long shot, but its something to explore.

    Oil filter questions

I would think that running the wrong filter would probably be OK, but I would take it off and put the proper one on.

    Brakes won’t bleed, help!!!

Do you have significant experience bleeding brakes? I'm only asking, so that we don't overlook the basics and go strait to advanced troubleshooting. As for alternate bleeding options - Amazon has inexpensive next day delivery tools. Some create a vacuum at the wheel cylinder using a hand pump...

Click click clit - when in the 4x4.

So I never had a problem, but now when I put it in 4x4 mode, I get a click click click front the front end. Front left I think. 78 K5 8 lug 14 bolt 10 bolt 410. Ideas? Where to start?

1987 V10 with carb and dual tanks will not stay running

Carbed? Ah, in that case - What fuel pump setup do you have? Electric or manual? Another oddball thing is that crud is being picked up and blocking the fuel tube screens in the tanks, but when you stop the pump the crud falls away. Unlikely and then even more unlikely that it would happen to...

    81 k20 vs 86 k15 frame and axles

Well, you could just add 20 LBS of metal. Might look terrible, but the next buyer will never crawl under there to check it out. And since it will be reliable anyway, whats the harm.

    81 k20 vs 86 k15 frame and axles

Ah. Well, its still hard to tell a lot when its dirty, but if those are cracks, and not just cracked mud or undercoating - then I would say wending would be needed. Not too difficult of a job. Just make sure your fuel tank is 100% full before welding back in that area.

    81 k20 vs 86 k15 frame and axles

Really cant see anything about the frame in the pic. Can you sand blast or pressure wash it and send new pics? Need to see the metal, but all I can see is mud/undercoating.

1987 V10 with carb and dual tanks will not stay running

Not sure if this is your issue, seeing as its throttle body - but you might be getting vapor lock in the fuel tanks. Fuel being removed from the tank creates a vacuum, and starves the engine of fuel. When the tank is not being used, air slowly makes it way into the tank to equalize the pressure...

New hydraulic roller bbc break in

Everyone has their own method. Some people don't break them in at all, some people race the crap out of the engine right from the get go. I prefer the overkill method. When I do a rebuild - I put non-synthetic oil in it and run it with varying RPM until it thoroughly up to temp. Then I shut...

    in tank fuel pump

I pulled a bed once. It ******* sucked. After that the pump failed in 10 months. That time I cut a hole in the bed and swapped the pump in WAY less time and way less effort. I put a hinge and latch on the fuel pump access hatch. The next buyer was very pleased that I made this mod and bought the...

Hard Line from fuel pump to carb

Just tell the kid that you want the fuel line. If any one of my girlfriends dads asked me for a fuel line off of an engine that I had sitting in his garage, I would be happy to donate it to his rig.
