    Doh ya that makes sense. Top goes on bellhousing bolt and lower probably on the starter solenoid mounting bolt if it's anything like the one on the old Monte Carlo I had.

    Someone here will know for sure. Mine has a sheet metal channel 3x3x1" under the passenger side floor/firewall that the starter loom passes thru, it didn't have a round tube. Mines a 78 BIG TEN for reference.

    Probably had to do more with a leak that was fixed when it was swapped than the manifold itself. Those 76cc chamber heads are defiantly not helping no idea who would even consider those for a "race" engine build. Most guys I know won't even use them on a stock bottom end they almost always end...

    For the seal that it goes in it is required, the standard seal is different. I'm swapping mine to the seal that doesn't use it I don't like how it changes color. It has a coating on it that fades and turns color and looks like crap.

    What have you done to your square lately??

    So far swapped the mandarin visor arms for a chrome set last of the orange now gone. Finalized the rollover/breather with a bulkhead to put it outside of the bed cover. Now just need to finish up some wiring.

    Mine has an aftermarket slider in it and one side is super loose and the other is so tight it only opens a third of the way like its tweaked and jammed up, I have a new glass and seal just haven't had the time to mess with it. In this pic you can see how wonky the seal fits the cab, I think...

    GM pumps run in the 750-1200psi range (rack vs steering box) possible you have one of the lower output pumps which could be your issue.

    5 lug to 6 lug 1983 GMC

    Was just saying in general I don't see the point of swapping away from 5 lug outside of swapping everything to upgrade the load capacity. Only doing a 6 lug conversion isn't doing anything besides giving yourself less wheel and aftermarket brake options. Should have worded that a little better.

    Driving full time 4wd with front drive shaft removed

    Had to limp my Scout home once on the front driveshaft but it wasn't on purpose. Never had to or tried to run a 4x with the front shaft removed maybe in and out the garage while working on one of them but don't recall. Haven't owned a 4x in over 20 years.

    A lot of stores Summit for instance will also list height and width in tread and section/overall width in imperial. Just like our bolt pattern 5 on 5 is also 5x127mm so if looking for rims keep that in mind as it may give you more options.

    He wants less wheel options, I guess. I can't think why you would want to do this outside of doing a full suspension upgrade to make it a 3/4 or 1 ton.

    Wheel well fender mouldings

    I currently have an AMD set on mine fit fine with a bit of work, have another set of front ones coming with the new fenders also from AMD. I couldn't be bothered to try and reuse the old ones.
