Thanks for watching my videos, appreciate the support...Here's what you need to do for the HD 2-3 shift valve: LMK if you have any questions...It's a pretty straight-forward deal...I'd also pick up some o-ringed end plugs, Sonnax abuse valve / bore plug kits (you'll need two) and the vette...

    Help with rebuilt 1986 TH350C

I have no idea if you left out a seal or what you may have done or not done but I'd drop the pan, valve body, spacer plate and gaskets then do a case air check to see if the direct clutch is applying. If you burnt it up, you'll know it when you drop the pan and see the fluid and bottom. If the...

Thanks - I actually now remember reading that and was going to respond but got side-tracked...For others reading, here's the quote from the Tahoeyukon.com forum member in question: I'll address his points one at a time, starting with the first sentence; all of my commentary is directly...

Perfectly safe, esp when towing. If you're moving faster than 60, put it into overdrive. Can you share the link to the forum where someone is stating it's not safe to do so?

    Help with rebuilt 1986 TH350C

I think your direct clutch pack is going out - transmission likely needs to come out for overhaul. Sounds like you did everything correctly with the valve body...The roll pin coming loose, part way out may have impacted your manual low function but wouldn't have had a bearing on your ability to...

    1987 V10 700r4 locks up immediately after 1-2 shift

Sorry, didn't see your initial posts. 82-86 did have a 2nd-4th TCC apply strategy however in 1987, they went from locking the TC in 2nd gear (some models) to only have it lock up in third and 4th. So it shouldn't be locking immediately upon shifting from 1-2. From what I can recall, everything...

Typo, my apologies. Meant to type "KD" as in kick down valve.

    Help with rebuilt 1986 TH350C

Sorry, been busy. Were your pressure test numbers with your kickdown cable conncted or disconnected? If you drop the valve body, check the ke valve, make sure it's installed correctly, in addition to checking the 2-3 shift valve.

NP203 stuck in Neutral, lever will not budge HELP

Thanks but unfortunately, I am not familiar with NP203s or any transfer case for that matter as I almost never received inquiries about rebuild transfer cases. So stopped offering T-case overhaul as a service years ago.

need 700r4 TV cable for 6.2?

If you havent already done so, call Bowtie Overdrives and ask them for a cable and bracket for your set up. You must have the correct bracket for your engine and induction application or you risk having insufficient line pressure rise in the trans due to poor cable geometry.

    Help with rebuilt 1986 TH350C

Gotcha...Conduct a line pressure test before doing anything else...You can grab the Maddox oil/trans pressure gauge combo set at Harbor Freight. The gauge kit will come with everything you need to do the pressure test. You will thread in the pressure gauge into the line pressure port on the...

    Help with rebuilt 1986 TH350C

Thanks for watching my videos, appreciate the views and support. > Did you air check the case upon assembly? If so, did all clutch packs apply as expected? If yes, this likely rules out anything in the case. If not, it's tougher to rule out... > Did you completely disassemble the valve body...

what is this: epoxy? in TH350 valve body

Looks a little like weld but hard to tell from a pic. See if you can scrape it out, if you havent tried already. It shouldnt be there, that's for sure.

Newly rebuilt 4l80e (700 miles) now won’t shift into 3rd gear

So the prev harness' temp sensor was bad. Did that harness that you just replaced look new or did it look like the original (or an original) harness?

    What 700R4 Governor or Setup:

Grab the superior tech governor recalibration kit and start off with the heaviest secondary weights that come in that kit (in reality, the weights are much lighter than the stock 700 gov sec weights). Start with those and the corresponding springs that come in the kit. They should move your WOT...

Newly rebuilt 4l80e (700 miles) now won’t shift into 3rd gear

Continuity test the harness via the multi-pin connector and see if you get any anomalous readings. Could be the transmission wiring harness or could be something else. The harness should have been replaced during the rebuild - if it was not, that's a miss on the part of the builder. If it was...

Newly rebuilt 4l80e (700 miles) now won’t shift into 3rd gear

Sounds like a short somewhere or a malfunctioning controller. Whenever factory PCMs detect anomalies with transmission-related sensors, switches or other electrical components, the PCM freezes all adapts, maxes out the line pressure and sometimes will put the trans into limp mode. For the 4L80E...

Newly rebuilt 4l80e (700 miles) now won’t shift into 3rd gear

Are the speed sensors new? If not, id replace the rear speed sensor with the front one and visa versa to see if anything changes. Also check wiring to each sensor for damage, etc.

Newly rebuilt 4l80e (700 miles) now won’t shift into 3rd gear

Test them with a DVOM first to see if any are bad. Look to see if they are new. If not, you can replace the solenoids and seek reimbursement from the trans builder or have him replace the solenoids.

    700r4 shake?

Are you sure one of your wheels isnt simply out of balance? The output shaft will always have movement/play as that allows for driveshaft articulation. The ext housing bushing simply stablizes the slip yoke while the rear case bushing stablizes the transmission's rear reaction shaft. Both...
