Smog removed: how to cap manifolds?

FWIW: Since I just did the same thing on my 82, thought I would share what worked for me. I went with these to plug the holes in the manifolds and they worked quite well. FYI

    82 C10 EFI Conversion project

Just personal preference, I run electric fans on all my builds. They will be controlled by the Holley ECU.

For scale the rad is 28x19" and the fans are about 1.750" away from the cooling fins mounted in the shroud. Should move some air, we will see.

    82 C10 EFI Conversion project

Thanks, if I run into issues I can always upgrade to the spal 500watt units, and add a coupler flapper doors to the shroud. Seems the biggest challenge is moving air through the goofy basket style fans. Not really of fan of them, pardon the pun. I picked this shroud mainly as it's pretty...

    82 C10 EFI Conversion project

I'm definitely open to suggestions. My tuner suggested a brushless fan setup, but I opted for a slightly more affordable option for now.

    82 C10 EFI Conversion project

Few pics of the cooling system going together.. New radiator with shroud, and dual 14" fans. Here is the Holley 'water manifold' that all the accessories will mount to, it takes C7 water pump and accessories. What it's supposed to look like with everything installed

    82 C10 EFI Conversion project

Few more pics for now, (hoping these pics will spark some motivation for others if they are on the fence about EFI) - Fixed the sloppy injector issue with the added o-rings and now no leaks. Here is the new dorman 31 gallon tank going together Once I get the fittings together this will be...

    82 C10 EFI Conversion project

I thought this would be a good place to document my "daily driver" EFI conversion project on my 82 Suburban C10. So far I am still in the parts gathering phase, but plan to get after it once I have everything on deck. Doing the 87+ tank swap with sender and an Aeromotive 340lph pump feeding...

    Source for rear AC fittings?

Very cool, I think this will work for the larger suction/low side hose, then I can build the hose from the compressor to connect to the male fitting. Seems this system used no expansion valve, or I have yet to find it.

Nice! Thank you - All great info.

    Source for rear AC fittings?

Hello, I am doing a R134a conversion/retrofit on an 82 Suburban. I am replacing the compressor with a Sanden 7176, (relocating to the passenger side with a new drive setup) all new hoses, O-rings, new parallel flow condenser, accumulator/dryer, and orifice tube. Since I am relocating the...
