    Caster adjustment question?

If the truck doesn't feel squirrelly on the highway and the caster matches or close side to side, doesn't pull left or right,I'd leave it alone. Caster is a non wear angle and makes the car stable on the highway. If it's stable you're good.

Failed smog on 1988 with 350 TBI

Even if it is at o drop it down a few degrees you'll lose some power but it will clean up emissions bump it back up after testing. 2-maybe 4 degrees. Anyway that was one of the big reasons for ported vacuum on later carbureted stuff more retard timing creates more heat, less power but the CO...

    Hitch bolts

I'd re drill the hitch and the frame in those middle 2 spots. That way you could get clean perfectly matched holes that aren't sloppy. Looks like there's plenty of area on the hitch tabs to redrill.

    E85 conversions considering gas prices

E85 especially on our trucks is not a good economic move. Alcohol attracts water which destroys carbs, and rusts tanks,as well as settles out so you have water in your fuel. Ethanol attacks the fuel hoses, rubber carburetor parts, and fuel pumps. E85 you'll have to re jet or replace your carb with...

    Detent/Kickdown cable

If you are using let's say a 1979 c10 350,and using the carburetor and brackets for a 1979 engine. I'd buy one for a 1979 c10 Chevrolet with a th350 transmission. If it's a hodge podge of different pieces, then a universal may be the best option. But a factory cable has to match your intake,your...

    87' 350 SBC Rebuild

Make sure the pcv system us intact and functioning correctly. Sometimes people do not realize that pcv is important, and they will leak from everywhere if pcv is not functional or the engine is not vented in some fashion. You do know not all the smog stuff is bad? Some reduce emissions without...

    Cam shaft

2.02 is valve size what are the head casting numbers and are you running flat top pistons? If you are running large chamber heads and flat tops that engine is basically a clone of the 350/290 hp gm crate engine do some internet research regarding that engine and Camshaft. I say that engine needs...

    Starter gets stuck

I've seen and heard this before. I was driving it,it died,it needs a jump start. Nope it needs an engine. I was driving it yesterday, today it wouldn't start I put a new starter on,they must of sold me the wrong starter because it still won't turn over.1st one was a Huyndai Excel. The other was a...

I am pretty sure my Charcoal canister is Clogged!

That hose is the bowl vent, and gasoline will ruin a charcoal cannister. If you have fuel coming it out of that I suspect a bad float,a leaky needle and seat or in correct float level.I wouldn't plug a bowl vent.

    Cam shaft

You need to check the head casting numbers. I'd bet you need heads too,if it's on the 81 in your first post. Probably 624 castings, low compression, low flow, smog heads, bigger cams need more compression. And you probably don't have any. Yep you can put in a big cam,it may sound mean, but it won't...

    Starter gets stuck

Why were you changing the starter? I've seen people change starters because the engine was locked up. Have you tried turning the engine over by hand?

I am pretty sure my Charcoal canister is Clogged!

The 3rd pump line is just a return to the tank, not to the vapor canister. The vapor canister does vent your tank,if its not venting you can't pull fuel, but easy enough to diagnose. Run with the gas cap off see if the problem is gone.I'd be more inclined to think you have a weak fuel pump.Because...

    NP241 TRANSFER CASE SUPPORT ROD

I am not familiar with all the different versions of transfer case support rods. I do know the purpose of some of them,so look at your application and use your head. They keep the transfer case from using leverage, inertia,or impact and moving forward or back, which would/could crack your...

    Oil pressure sensor questions

Probably, looks can be deceiving and we haven't seen your connector unplugged. And if you have power to one terminal key on engine off you don't have a burnt fuse, the one directly across from it should also have 12volts with the engine running. Assuming your wiring hasn't been messed with and...

    rough running....backfiring 350

Make sure the truck is fully warmed up,the choke is fully open. If it still won't open the secondaries see if the secondary lockout is stuck, then I'd start playing with air door tension.

    rough running....backfiring 350

They are demand operated, you probably will never get them open in neutral. The engine has to have a need for enough air to overcome the spring that holds them closed.

TV & Throttle bracket with 1406 carb

To add to the above if the geometry is not correct on the TV arm on the carburetor,if you are running a 700r4 transmission, you will shorten it's life sometimes very drastically.

350 and 4 speed manual removal

I don't even remove the hood. Lots of people do. A friend of mine argued and argued with me about it with my 75 Trans Am. Since he was free help I gave in,okay we do it your way. He dropped his corner and broke my windshield going back on. Separating the 4 speed is easy and will make coming out...

Oil pressure switch adapter or relocation

No matter where it is it's just standard pipe thread your local hardware store will have everything you need. As a matter fact if you are just adding. There is a port above the oil filter, and one behind the distributor. If there's already a sender/switch in one just use the other location
