Looks like bad news for me

If you have power on one end of a fuse,or breaker, and no power on the other side of the fuse or breaker. The fuse or breaker is bad. How did you test it?

1984 K10 LS Swap - Lots of Little Problems

Put a vacuum gauge on it see what kind if readings you are getting, see if the engine runs the same with #2 injector plugged in but #2 coil unplugged, see if it runs decent on 7 that way. Wondering if #2 has a problem with the intake valve and when #2 hits it confuses the map sensor.

    Fuel and spark no start

Put your compression tester hose in cylinder #1 put a party noise maker or balloon on the end of the hose. Turn the motor by hand, when the noise maker starts blowing or the Ballon starts blowing up,watch your timing marks slowly rotate and line up 15* do not rotate backward if you pass. Now...

I wanted you to do that to verify whether or not it was in the,harness/ecu. Now that those have been replaced. I'm going to go back and read through all this again. I don't remember it all.

    E85 conversions considering gas prices

Everyone needs to remember apples to apples, oranges to oranges. Computer controlled ignition, more compression and electronic fuel injection is going to be a way different game ,and out come, than a car with a distributor and fixed orifice carbureator jets

    87' 350 SBC Rebuild

87 would be LO5 engine it's already 9.5 to 1 compression. Everybody bad mouths the 193 heads that are on it. Those heads actually do a real good job under 4500 rpm. They are a primitive fast burn so the make more torque with less timing and get better mpg than 99% of other SBC heads. Those heads...

The 4 bolt main LIE !!! Or is it???

The 301/302 combination was born out of necessity. The first versions was because that was as big as you could bore a 283 block. The later factory version was because the Trans Am racing class( which Camaros and Mustangs and Mustangs primarily ran) had a CID limit of 305 CID. Chevrolet already...

    NP241 TRANSFER CASE SUPPORT ROD

It can also break the transmission tailshaft. If the transfer case moves forward or back to far because it tries to bend the transmission.

New coil springs too strong? Can't connect upper ball joint

Just throw a chain on the ground. Set your floor jack on top of it. Wrap the chain over the frame. The floor jack arm can go up but the chain under the floor jack keeps the frame in place.

    torque lock up

If you use 12 volts in,and use only the solenoid and 4th gear switch. It CAN only lockup in 4th there would be no ground for the solenoid in any other gear. Verify the 4th gear switch is open when you have tge pan iff,but if opening and closing 4th gear switch,is your only path to ground for the...

    Verajet heat soak?!?!?

Just trigger it off the r terminal on the starter while the starter is engaged the transfer pump would run it would only take a few seconds to push liquid fuel to the main pump. Liquid under pressure raises the boiling point, liquid under vacuum lowers the boiling point, that is the reason we use...

Oil pressure switch adapter or relocation

The switch is a redundant power supply for the fuel pump,so if the relay dies the pump still gets power through an oil pressure switch so you aren't stranded. Earlier squares used the 2nd switch to provide power to the choke only with the engine running.

    torque lock up

Make your life easy I did not read your post it was too long for me. You do not need an ecm to control any 700r4. You do for a 4l60e the ecm on the 88 is for the TBI and egr. drop your transmission pan, look at your lockup solenoid if it's a 2 wire great. If not order a 2 wire. Look at your 4th...

Yes ground it to the core support. For our purposes no,I don't think you can have too many grounds.

    Fuel Smell

My 66 Chevelle caught fire that way. A fuel hose, previous owner installed Edelbrock performer and used a piece of rubber fuel hose to mate carb to existing fuel line. A pin hole in the fuel line was squirting just like a squirt gun. I saw the fuel stream still coming out of the hose, spraying the...

350 Engine extreme backfiring please advice

Easier yet take the hose off the compression tester tape the whistle from a party noise maker on it,it will make a sound like a duck as you are coming up to TDC. Or twist tie a balloon to it,it will inflate on compression, deflate after you cross tdc. One more backyard way plug the spark plug...

350 Engine extreme backfiring please advice

I'm pretty sure, sure enough I'd bet money that 99% of 1987 1/2 tons had tbi and all 86s were carbureted. Look up some fuel pumps. BATM I will later. I'm back.

Forbidden Fuel Experiment: E85 In a Mostly Stock Square

I If you want to do this long term to try to save money on fuel. I'd suggest smaller combustion chamber, better burn heads. Like Vortec or TBI heads,or even some 305 heads, and thin head gaskets. I'm assuming you are running 76cc smog heads.Smaller combustion chamber heads will bring up...

Forbidden Fuel Experiment: E85 In a Mostly Stock Square

You very possibly do get better mileage, performance, and less knock with premium in your truck. The 80s 305s are little ping monsters, they raised compression on them in 1981 for LE9 engines and went knock sensor ignition. The more you can keep it out off the knock sensor with octane, the more...
