    Fuel tank and hose help

Hook the tank vent line back up so it vents through the charcoal canister. That should be a good place to start.

    Problems with new clutch material

This sounds like a pilot bushing or alignment issue to me. I would ASSume that he means 1st road gear, rather than low gear.

    Lowered c20 suburban and rake

Can you tell if leaves have been added in? I ask because it's quite common. If so, I'd start by just pulling just one of those.

My local Ace Hardware sells stainless round stock (among other stainless bits), maybe your local hardware store does too.

Imho, looks great how it is. Also @txaggie I'd still really like to know where to find one of those front air dams, lol.

    Hub Centric Spacers 1989 V1500

That wheel you have pictured is aftermarket. There's been a bazillion 6-lug trucks run with aftermarket wheels and no hub-centric ring. It'll be fine. However, you MUST make sure your wheel studs are long enough for good thread engagement with those wheels.

    Catalytic Converter

I agree, the old pellet style converters suck. Putting a newer converter on it will probably lessen you're emissions and it will also give you some more horsetorques.

It's just the foam. Old and worn vs. new and aftermarket.

'83 Scottsdale to '89 suburban frame interchange?

Truck frames have a different wheelbase and the rear frame rails are contoured differently than Suburban. I'd fix that wrecked frame LONG before doing a frame swap. Not a doubt in my mind.

Good point! I've got coworkers that don't even know to do that.

What have you done to your square lately??

Driving it counts as doing something to it, right? When I got home from work, my middle daughter wanted me to drive her to her friend's house, so I did. Without me teaching her, she knows that it's best to ride in a truck with your arm on the window sill.

What have you done to your square lately??

I haven't done diddly squat to my squares lately. Been busy with Camaros. I did drive this one to work the last two days though. So that's around 160 miles right there. Although, in the bed is an axle to fix another square of mine.

Headers? worth the effort & cost?

There is often a significant gain even on a stone stock engine. Yes. Long tube headers tend to produce more power down low too. Despite decades of magazine articles and dyno tests that prove it (@Ricko1966 just posted one in another thread), there's still the common myth that long tube headers...

Yeah, I actually kind of remember reading that article.

Headers for a 79 big block

Due to the design of the heads, most headers on a big block are going to want 135* boots. Straight boots are close to the primaries and 90* boots tend to put the wires close to the head and can chaff the wires over time.

Case in point... well, two cases actually. Both of these trucks are lifted (4" and 6") and have the fat side of the shims toward the front. They both drive and steer very well. The need for them, in any thickness, is dependent on every application. Hopefully removing yours will take care of...

GMC Savana, Plus a Chevy Express Now Too

For car and 2wd truck tires, there's still the Radial T/A. I'm particularly fond of the Mastercraft Avenger GT, it's cheaper than the BFG, it's a darn good tire and it's not a modern looking design.

Does this head/rocker setup need guide plates?

You don't have to hog out the holes in those heads no matter what you do. If the heads are already machined for screw in studs, guide plates should work fine. But self-aligning rockers will work without guide plates.
