    Its easiest to make the adjustments cold with a vacuum pump. Otherwise it may take you a few attempts.

    It needs to be on manifold vacuum. Once you confirm that check to be sure the can pulls in like it should. It should pull in fully without pulling tight on the green rod leaving a liitle bit of travel. If when the can pulls in fully it doesn't pull the choke open a bit pinch the U-bend in the...

    you will need rosen either way to get it to stick. rosin is another name for flux. it acts like a cleaner. I don't like having to flux and then solder unless it is on really small stuff that requires very little solder.

    Most of what you find in a store will be lead free but if you can find some with lead it will work better. In most cases rosin core will be the most convenient to use.

    While I am one of the lucky ones that ran a glass filter for 10 years with no troubles. (Yes I changed the element often) I would not run one again. I would go with a metal inline filter.

    This sounds legit the brake light circuit passes through. Oth the hazard and tun signal switches.

    The rough running could be not quite enough vacuum pull off. You could try a little adjustment there. Otherwise the high idle is all effected by the high idle cam. The adjusting screw pushes directly on that cam. Check to see if adjusting it actually moves the throttle.

    Could be. Has someone messed around with the wiring up front? The side markers are tied into the turn signal wiring as well.
