Dumb down headlight relays for me.

Thanks all Grit dog, that goes along with what I had heard. Even with stock lights there can be some benefits to having relays. I just wasn't sure I was understanding it correctly. The other thing I need to look at is my truck itself. It was originally a 77 and after I bought it I got a...

    LMC Headliner question

My lazy ass still hasn't gotten around to installing the headliner. I had the old liner out, all the trim out (im replacing that too) and installed dyna mat on the ceiling. Then I had a last minute situation come up and had to clean my barn out so I put all the interior trim and headliner back...

Dumb down headlight relays for me.

I'm looking into option on my headlights for my 86 K 20. I don't drive it much at night at all so I can't justify the higher end LED's like Holley's. I should start by saying unfortunately I know nothing about electrical and wiring and just can't seem to figure it out. Am I reading right that...

    Truck Stolen

Typically it is one of two things. Some drunk/dope addict hopped in it for a quick joy ride to a buddies house to sell it for $500.00 worth of drugs. Or a more organized group spotted it and it has been retagged and is in Mexico or Southern Cal never to be seen again. It sucks...

Needing some help from a small engine guru.

OK thanks. I think (fingers crossed) it is just the coil(s). I have ordered two OEM Briggs coils for it. There was a mistake reading the thermometer. My neighbor thought it was reading at 1000 degrees and come to find out it was only 100 and some. I couldn't find the specs. for his thermo...

Needing some help from a small engine guru.

It is my neighbors and he is an auto mechanic by trade. When we checked the temps on the "good head" it was around 500 and when we checked the temps on the "good exhaust" it was around 600. When we went to the bad head it shot up, I cannot say it is perfect but I have no reason to think it is...

Needing some help from a small engine guru.

I'm not real mechanically inclined.....(Just needed to get that out there). I have a Ferris 61 inch ZTR mower with a 30 horse Briggs engine. Last week I was pulling my sprayer and was only running about half throttle. Right before I parked it the motor started to bog down like it was running on...

    Sandblasting advice needed.

I asked Rhino about it and they said they wouldn't even apply unless it was down to metal when I brought it in.

    Sandblasting advice needed.

Thanks for the replies, got side tracked and still haven't done anything with the bed. Rhino liner had a sale that ended the middle of February and once I missed that deadline I quit looking. I had a wiring issue I just got fixed tonight (I lost all my lights to the rear end, found a bad...

    Dash Pad Install

I contacted LMC about an issue with my headliner. It took them over a month to get back with me and then another several weeks after that to get the correct reply. They wouldn’t let me talk to any of the techs directly. I had to explain my issue to a lady on the phone, she emails the tech...

    LMC Headliner question

So I got delayed on the project and set the headliner aside a month or so ago. I got a call today from LMC customer service, I originally contacted them to just ask what size the triangle should be. The told me they pulled one off the shelf and said the triangles should be 2 inches on each...

    LMC Headliner question

I agree this would be the way to go with the factory liners as it would not be hard to poke through with an awl. The reproductions have a hard plastic backer that you can’t just poke through looking for the holes. Hopefully next week I can get out and work on mine.

    LMC Headliner question

Thanks. I haven’t even had time to look at it the last couple weeks. I am kinda disappointed that LMC hasn’t gotten back to me. All I asked them is to confirm the size the cutout should be. They have said they have to consult with their research and development engineers…. Next free day I have...

Kobalt vs dewalt for a sawzall

I know I am late to the party but for anyone reading this down the road. I worked at Lowes years ago and have family who is in management there. There is no comparison between Dewalt and Kobalt. If you are a homeowner who wants a saw to cut the occasional limb or thin piece of metal etc. the...

Have to store outside. Truck Cover?

I was going to say, if it is only a temporary issue and you plan on moving or having access to a garage or whatever, just leave it out and wash it and wax it as needed.

Have to store outside. Truck Cover?

Friend of mine has owned a lawn mower repair yard and scrap yard for years. People would bring things in for repairs and want them covered because they sit outside. He has told me for years, the ones that sit all summer waiting on long term repairs are worse off if covered than those that just...

    Better with white lettering

I am always a white letter in guy on my truck. They look like white walls once the tires are spinning and no square body should have white walls.

    Sandblasting advice needed.

From what I can see of the metal it appears to be good, however sometimes you don't know until you get to the surface. Here are a couple pics of the beds current state... The liner that is in it now doesn't have a rubbery feel. It is on very thin and feels more like hardened sand paper then...

    Sandblasting advice needed.

Just to update, since I typed the above. I called a local sandblasting place. He asked what year the truck was and told him an 86. He said the metal on these beds is not thick enough to handle sandblasting and said it would damage the metal before getting all the old liner off. Not sure if...

    Sandblasting advice needed.

I am wanting to put a spray in bed liner in my 86 K20. The issue is the donor bed I obtained and have on it had a DIY herculiner type liner put on it before I bought it, years ago. 80 % of it has worn off as the bed floor is basically bare meatal but the bedsides and wheel wells that don't get...

    Exhaust

Thanks Basically the truck had the exhaust on it when I got it and it had some issues. I took it to a local shop I trust to have it replaced. When I got back to pick it up he had fixed a couple things, added some new hangers, and said there was no need to replace it. So it has been as is...

    Exhaust

Just curious....When I bought my truck it had 3 inch exhaust on it with headers. I took the headers off and went with stock manifolds but kept the three inch. I had the motor rebuilt and a mild cam in it but it is basically the stock horsepower give or take. Is having the 3 inch hurting...

Auto or manual locking hub ?

I am no mechanic by any stretch of the imagination. But I remember when I brought the truck home a mechanic friend of mine jacked the front end up and checked something. I can't remember now (its been 15 years) but he said there is more to it than just throwing in the manual locks. He said...

Auto or manual locking hub ?

My truck was originally an auto locking truck but before i bought it the previous owner had put manual hubs in it. He owned a logging company and didn't trust the auto's. My doesn't see much 4WD time so it's never been an issue for me.
