My grandpa put this on his truck about 1978, I was about five when he did it. I can’t tell you the times it has been used over the years. A real back saver for sure. This is after I re-bodied it due to an extreme amount of rust.- Lugnut

1985 Long bed to short bed. Whats really needed. Just brake lines?
Depending on what fuel tank (16 vs 20 gal) your truck has you may need a 16 gal fuel tank or 2 if it is double tanked.- Lugnut

CPP Lowered Spindles

Corner/Marker Light Behavior
With the headlights off this is correct. The blinker and corner marker will blink on and off together. With the headlights on the parking light and corner marker light will be steady on, With the headlights on and the blinker on, the blinker and corner marker will blink opposite of each other...- Lugnut

What new tools have you got lately?
Not really a tool, but I did finally get around to building me a new welding/fab table for the shop, 6’x12’x1 1/2”. It sure will be nice to have a flat spot to work on. (Try to ignore the F350 in the background). -

C10 1978 engine colour code
It was GM blue when it was new, you can get it at any parts store. Duplicolor DE1608 is what I used when we built my sons elcomino. -
anyone have a pic of under hood jack tool storage?
Not the best pic but you can see the jack handle and lug wrench are in the hold down behind the radiator overflow bottle and the other end goes under the battery box.- Lugnut

I haven’t done a lot of dirt work with it, mainly firewood. It does great with the firewood. I have put about a 1 1/2 of gravel with no problem, just make sure your not on the side of a hill when you try to dump. That wouldn’t work out to well. I do have a plastic bed liner in it to that helps...- Lugnut

That one is my DD. Front 2 1/2” drop spindles and 2” drop springs. Running 255/70-15’s on 8” corvette style rallies. Rear has an axle flip and running 285/70-15’s on the same 8” wheels.- Lugnut

It’s that style but didn’t come off a Chevy, most Chevys have a cable. I don’t remember what I got it off of (I did this almost 20 years ago) but I liked the chain better. Yea I have no problem putting in the gas loaded either. Good luck- Lugnut

I had the exact same problem that you do. I know this isn't the best pic. to show exactly what I did but I didn't drive this truck today. What I did was to do away the the factory hanger. I went to the junk yard looking around and found a more modern style hanger, sorry I do not remember what...- Lugnut

Well I doubt the guy would really want to drive to Georgia, but I have a working 200 Metric sitting on the shelf that I pulled out of my sons '85 El Camino that we did a V8 swap on last year, it was a 4.3 car with about 100k on it.
