Suburban sub box design and locations

Mount the amp under the 2nd row then run speaker line from there to where you want to keep them, either behind the 2nd row or 3rd row if you have it. Use banana plugs or quick disconnects on the sub box speaker wires. Now you can quickly take the box out and you saved a bunch of money over going...

    Updated headlamp harness

Harnesses are so cheap nowadays that buying a generic prebuilt one on ebay or amazon will be under $10. Depends on if the cost is worth your time. Also depends if you can source just enough material needed for the project. Chances are you will spend more than $10 on 2-3 relays, a short spool of...

    Interior Rear View Mirror

If you arent going period correct then any modern era (late 90's up) mirror would serve nicely. Gentex is a major manufacturer and adding any wiring is as simple as power (or switched source) and ground for auto dimming. Map lights and temp would be another bit of wiring but thats pretty...

    Deformable LED Garage lights anyone?

Good to know. I figured there would be other sellers offering them. Once I get settled in better I want to get some mounted a few feet up from the ground on a wall or two. Excuse the mess, still trying to move in little by little.

    Deformable LED Garage lights anyone?

Those deformable lights are cool but pricey in a cost/output sense. I paid $60 for two of them from amazon (they are cheaper now https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G36R76D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and installed them in my garage. Super bright but I dont use my garage...

    2001 suburban

Did you get the remote start situation squared away? If not, its not stock. No OEM remote starts were offered on GMT800's. Its a base level aftermarket unit. You can disable it by looking under the dash for a small toggle switch like this: When I worked at a shop we wouldnt drill them...

    Snow tires for lifted trucks

I've been very happy with the cooper discoverer ST Maxx. I have them on my Cummins in a metric equivalent to a 35x12.5 and I also have them on the Burb in a 31x10.5x15. They are made in a 33" tall and are M+S rated. Looks like they are studable too, not 100% sure though.

Would you be willing to sell the center console latch only? Also, if its a higher model, do you have the woodgrain inserts for the front door panels?

    Removing PS Pump Pulley

I've used the loaner from Advance with no issue. Now I live too far from any of the auto parts chain stores so I bought a cheapy one from eBay to do the pump on my W150. I'll let you know how it goes.

Green Gas Monkey Wrecked Truck being rebuilt.

I think $800 for the donor truck is a good price, at least in PA. You can see through the truck tothe other side of the road for $800 up here. As for him not knowing trim levels, its a pretty easy explanation. I recently stumbled upon his channel and it seems like he does late model high end...

    Cup Holders?

Between your legs like we all did prior to the creation of cup holders? I use the center console and my hand to support the cups every now and then to keep them from flying. edit: My Burb came with those cupholders that go in the window channel and they are OK for a smaller cup but are flimsy...

    Engine Detailing?

Gunk engine cleaner A little scrubbing with a soft brush Rinse Repeat on caked up areas. Last engine I did it on a 185k 1.9L TDI. Looked like a low mileage engine after, I didnt spend too much time on it either. Couldve been better if I cared lol.

Not sure if I want to do brakes on my own, what's a decent price?

Someone with a bit more knowledge than me will have to answer that question for you. I know the 4wd required pressing in studs if you wanted to swap calipers. Not sure if the 2wd setup is just unbolt and pull off. Do some reading, ask some questions, do more reading, watch some youtube videos...

Not sure if I want to do brakes on my own, what's a decent price?

I'm welling to bet thats for pads only. @Iamthewalrus AC Delco Calipers will run between 35-50 per side. Bosch or Wagner pads will be 15-25 for both sides Rotors of any brand are 45-60 per side Drum brake hardware is like 5 bux for the bag and does both rear sides Brake shoes really vary in...

Anything different you have to do to run the LS coolant overflow tank with the squarebody radiator? First time I've seen that. Usually see the square rad with square overflow or an LS sealed radiator with the LS overflow.

The block is drilled for FWD trans applications so a RWD 4L60E would require an adapter. I think you can use a V6 RWD 4L60E, though. With that said you may be able to use any trans that was behind a 60 degree V6 engine (3800, 3400, etc.) The front accessory drive is completely different and I...
