FOUND: WTB Ashtray, Suburban 3rd Seat Armrest

Hi Again, I'm also looking for an ashtray for a Suburban 3rd seat armrest. This is the ashtray that's actually in the armrest of the third seat. It's not in the door. I believe it's the same armrest ashtray from 1985 through 1991 Suburbans. Possibly earlier but I'm not sure. I will post...

WTB 454 Rev. Rot. Fan for 454 Serpentine

Awesome Thanks for letting me know about that. I saw those fans with the nine blades and it looks like they would move a lot more air. I wasn't sure if it would fit. What year and model did you put it in? Do you happen to know the diameter? Do you happen to know the part number stamped on the...

    Sliding Rear Window Restoration/Parts

I'm really amazed that this thread is still going! Thanks to all who have contributed. Taking these old original sliding windows apart is quite challenging. It's kind of like a jigsaw puzzle that has to come apart in a certain order. Of course as stated earlier, once it's apart, suitable...

    VARMITS

Find little pans like old tuna cans or you can make them out of aluminum foil. Put a few mothballs in each pan and strategically place them around the engine compartment.

    VARMITS

Mothballs work. But they evaporate quickly and you have to replace them every couple weeks

Looking for recomendations for transmission change

My two cents... I've had nothing but trouble with 700R4s. The throttle valve cable is problematic, although it can be eliminated with some additional work inside. I would stick with a TH350, TH400 or 4L80E. Of course the 4L80E is an expensive option. But it sure is sweet!

    Coolant Reservoir Leak '87? - '91

Hello All, Anybody else struggling with coolant reservoir leaks? On the later models, I think it started in '87? and went to '91. They're mounted on the top of the right hand fender well. I have a continuous leak from the front mounting tab. I replaced this reservoir so many times I lost track...

    Best Door Hinge Lubricant

Lots of great suggestions and comments. I really appreciate all the feedback. I learned about some products I was not aware of. But when I went to look them up in Amazon I really learned about inflation as well! Some of these things are $30 for a small can!! Nevertheless it is what it is and...

    Best Door Hinge Lubricant

Thanks again to all for all the feedback so far. Greatly appreciated. And as some have commented, I have discovered that what is squeaking in my case is actually not the hinges themselves. It's the heavy spring that rides against the little wheels to keep the door propped open. Thanks again

    Holy Grail of Squarebodys

For me, limiting my response to stock production vehicles: Depending upon the needs of the day: 1991 V3500 Crew Cab, SRW, 454, 4L80E (Saw one listed recently on eBay for $115k) or 1991 V2500 Suburban, 350, 4L80E, barn doors. Of course love the Blazers/Jimmys too. Pick your favorite year...

    Best Door Hinge Lubricant

Hello to All, Looking for some suggestions for the best door hinge lubricant you use. From what I can remember the factory service manual recommends plain engine oil. I have tried many different lubricants and I haven't found one that really works good. They all seem to work only for a short...
