Transfer Case shifter ROD vs Cable? What are people using to avoid unnecessary wear in transfer case?

sorry, i'm not. i can say that my 208 shifter+linkage doesn't seem to present pressure on it. slick and a bit of wiggle in the detents. of course i'm not checking when the truck is 'flexing' so there could very well be. :) 'monkey

    Fender antenna debacle

i'd google replacement car antenna. it's been awhile but walmart carried a hole mount antenna. came with several spacers cut at an angle so you could match just about any angle to get the antenna pointing vertical (or swept back to match windshield)...

Let's talk one man brake bleeder

i use a peanut butter jar with a hole drilled in the lid. the hole in the lid is tight enough on the hose to keep it from moving. 1 'coil' of hose is submerged in fluid in the jar. when brakes, with air in the line, are applied the air bubbles up and 'out' of the fluid. fluid, sans air, is...

Nobody warned me about the MPGs on these square bodies!

i gotcha. it's just guesstimate math at the pump. 3.73 rear on skinny/stock height tires. reman/furb quadrajet, easy on the shifting. road to town is 55 mph, 20 miles each way. i don't do 'town' driving so that helps. (1 four way stop and 1 traffic light to get where i gotta go) go to the...

Nobody warned me about the MPGs on these square bodies!

wow! lots of fun on the go pedal but wow! :) my plain jane K20 Ultra HD gets about 15 even that makes my wallet cringe compared to my daily. 2021 CRF300L gets 65 day in day out loaded or unloaded ;) 'monkey

Surprise No. 238.2, and Thinking Outloud and In Writing

i know my '91 dakota w/318 had a resistor block in the firewall that handled the heater blower speed. big coil, little coil, straight wire. bolted into the firewall and protruded into the air duct so that it would get cooled by the flow. same current draw regardless of of climate control...

Motorbike ramps : how to secure them ?

i have a harbor freight tri-fold ramp. it has, out of the box, attached chains with an s hook. the chain, on each side, goes around the tailgate strap/chain/cable and s hooks to itself. no movement l/r or f/b https://www.harborfreight.com/super-wide-tri-fold-loading-ramp-90018.html :) good...

    Rear Brakes Locking Up

i really don't have much to add but; does the '10' series truck have a valve in the rear? the one that opens up as the weight in the bed increases? if it did, and was removed, then the back gets full juice even with no weight on the wheels. my K20 4K ultra HD does and it still works properly...

    Towing with an old truck

i know the 1/2 ton dodge ones are ;) 27.5' bumper pull behind the 2005 dodge quad cab 4x4 hemi. central missouri to disney in florida and back. the distro hitch had an anti-sway device as well. for a ton truck, the anti-sway might have done something but yeah, the squat difference has got to...

Did this K20 come factory with catalytic converter?

my 85 k20 has the C6P option which, as you said, put it over the threshold for 'no cats'. i don't know the specifics of the camper special though a non C6P k20, of that era, would have cats i expect. i'm no expert or even a novice at what a truck needs to pass inspection in states that require...

    Old Bedliners

i've found those hard plastic 'corrugated/channelized' liners don't trap moisture as bad as some. air can move around a little better than the rubber mat stuff that seems to accelerate the rust-out process. :) good luck 'monkey
