    Steering box

I rebuilt my own box and got all the leaks stopped. I adjusted the free-play according to the manuals, and it works great, except when the fluid is cold at start-up. It acts like it has manual steering just for a few seconds, maybe 30, until fluid circulates & warms slightly, then it steers like...

    USA1 Dash Pad Troubles

I bought a urethane repop and I had to do a bunch of grinding & shaving to get it to remotely look good. Dashes Direct makes a couple varieties and are main suppliers for many of the secondary distibutors who sell them, i.e., places like USA 1. LMC, etc. I do not know if they are who makes the...

    Oil Pressure Gauge Diagnostics

My guage pegs after a certain point of wot, and reads around 30 psi at idle, which I feel is acurate also. I've replace the guage & sender, even hooked up an 80 psi diesel guage, which acted the same way and was 30 psi at idle, pegged going down the highway. I can literally see an electric glich...

OEM "Original Equipment Remanufactured" company - any good?

Selling tactic, but that doesn't mean that they are niot good, especially if they are rebuilding original oem parts. You can research the manufacturer of the parts though. When I was researching front drivelines for my square, I found out that Dorman are USA made.

    Sealing Bed Wood

Dejure is spot on. FYI, a wood door manufacturer insists that if all 6 sides of the door are not finished/sealed, the warranty is VOID. I also recommend an oil penetrating stain, then a marine spar varnish. Sikkens makes some great exterior wood products, hence their products price tag. If you...

    Paint code?

You can look up paint options/colors available for the specific year of truck. My '87 Chevy brochure lists the colors as Midnight Blue Metallic/Steel Gray Metallic as the colors, but doesn't give the code. Just search the web for an '87 Chevy truck paint chart, It'll tell you.

    Do I need rock/gravel guard?

I guess it depends on how serious you are off-roading. Is there a bunch of loose rock in your area? Do you bomb down gravel roads 100 mph? The lines you have are probably for a truck not meant for much off-highway use.

    Anyone near McDonough, GA??

I found some nice interior parts for my truck and a nice rear bumper in a salvage yard in Georgia, but they won't ship. I would pay someone to put there eyes on the parts, take pic's, then possibly ship them to me in Montana. I know it may be crazy to ship the bumper, and I may just pass on it...
