1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

Small victories this weekend. The moron PO plasti dipped everything except the headlights, tail lights, and windows. From a junkyard car we pulled the front blinkers and then yesterday I cleaned the dirt from them as best as possible. Also found this panel to be dented, I just didn't notice it...

I use the flush cut pliers from Harbor Freight for everything. They even are great for cutting hang nails off. That and they are like $4 a set. We have several of them.

He does make a fair point. This should be first. If it cannot breathe well on either end, it will not perform to your expectations. My big block came with wimpy little 2-1/8 dual pipe system on it and it could barely breathe. You could hear the fan more than the tailpipes when jumping on it...

Looks good so far. Keep it up. What mufflers are you going to be using?

What new tools have you got lately?

Good to know. And also why I bought the warranty. I will hopefully get to use it this weekend to see how it works. I figured if it works through the warranty period, it should be ok. We shall see and I will report back.

Which posi unit do you like?

I have used the Detroit True Trac as well as a Yukon Dura Grip. I did have to replace the Detroit due to a later bent axle tube putting weird pressure on the internal gear set causing it to destroy itself. But I would not hesitate to install another one. Mine was aggressive as you could hear...

Y'all are making me happy my newest vehicle is from 1995. And for thread relevance, here it is the last time I had to drive down to the office.

But it is a right of passage to fire them up with open headers. We all do it.

What new tools have you got lately?

I have wanted one for a while now. HF sent out a coupon for 25% off and that made the unit $263. I still have some trust issues with larger purchases there on the house brand stuff, so I opted for the $69 1 year warranty. That brought me up to $332 out the door, still better than paying full...

    Need a bit more oomph...

Instead of swapping the cam, how about buying a mixed set of 1.6 / 1.5 roller rockers. Put the 1.6 on the intake for a bit more lift and the 1.5 on the exhaust as they already flow well enough for most cams in the area of your crate engine. In the past I have had to buy two sets, one of each and...

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

Zee Burger has ants in her pants to be turned loose in it, but she has to wait just a bit more as we complete all the little tasks that make it dependable. The major things that need to be worked over are the exhaust, some PO wiring issues, brake lines, valve seals, valve springs, and a TBI...

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

Yesterday we also got the second V band and 2-1/2 to 3 inch increaser on the cat. Now we can start to visualize how we are going to be routing the 3 inch pipe under the car. When we all got tired of hanging out in the hot hot outside we were changing the window wiper arms. The ones on the...

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

We were just looking at random stuff as we were packing all the Camaro stuff up. Max spots this one ton truck with a rack in the bed and thought about trying to make it work on our truck for camping activities. As we gave up on that thought, he noticed it was a 2 wheel drive as there were coil...

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

Back on July 1st boss man told us that if we got our poop in a group and finished our project for the most part on Tuesday, that then we could take Wednesday the 3rd off as well as the 4th and 5th. We busted buns and made that happen. So we took our off day and went to the junkyard where a 1992...

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

Under the hood there were a couple of busted panels. I never even thought as to why they were busted, I just knew I wanted to change them out. The core support cover was cracked nasty as well as the radiator cover with the right bolt busted off of the plastic cover. After I pulled both of the...

Looks good so far. The itching is just one of the reasons that I opted to not use it. I still have some rolls of that stuff sitting on the shelf.

I think we used a socket for that spacer. Same on my old Nova. If it works, it can't be that dumb.

Second the Nova headers. I got these from a buddy as he had new ones for his Nova. They bolted right up and fit great. We have a manual transmission and they clear everything with out any issues. Looking under the truck the Nova headers tuck up real nice like... Putting my head and phone...

    Rim compatibility

I would also recommend the step up to the 17 inch size now that it has been brought up. I needed a set of wheels for my daily and the tire guy said they didn't have any in stock. He asked if I would want to step up to the 17 inch size as they have a set of wheels in stock as well as the tires I...
