If it makes you feel any better. My father bought his truck new in 1984. Fit around hood and doors was terrible from the factory. Some of the gaps were close to a quarter inch. Exhaust leak affecting performance?
Yes. An exhaust leak can have an affect on vehicle performance. I had a cracked manifold an all sorts of minor issues. Nothing dramatic but really annoying.
