    Heater Hose Routing

Correct 3/4 hose goes to water pump or radiator not both, if your radiator doesn’t have a hose port then the hose goes to the water pump. This is mine.

Engine & transmission removal & reinstall general tips

I always use a front head accessory bolt and a rear head accessory bolt on the opposite side with an adjustable load leveler attached to the engine hoist, I don’t trust aluminum intake bolts and always pull the radiator.

Distributor will hit edelbrock 3764 intake

Bucket has it right, you can move or set the distributor in any position you want as long as where you drop it in the rotor aligns with the designated #1 on the cap and the engine is on TDC

    The Best Carburetor?

I’m going to stay out of which brand because any of them will work fine. In my opinion most people screw up by getting a carb which doesn’t match their engine setup. If you’re going with stock cylinder heads, cam and low compression pistons then a 600 cam carb should be the maximum size probably...

    Help with grinding/whirring sound!

Drive the truck for awhile but only until you hear the noise for 5 minutes or so then slowly stop and feel your hubs, if a wheel bearing is going bad that hub will be hotter. Also remember that the front brakes do most of the stopping so judge accordingly.

I have been reading these driveshaft articles and one thing to remember is that the phasing is important , front end rear yokes same position driveshaft yokes also.

Passing CA Smog help - High HCs

Put good fuel in it, let it run low then load up on isopropyl alcohol (dry gas) on the way to the test. Worked every time for me. Considering that you have no major problems.

This makes 0 sense to me! Heater hose route

A couple things I just remembered alignment for the P/S pump was a trial and error pain but finally, and working with Old Air products on retrofitting the Sanden compressor to GM he pointed out the limitations of the compact compressor. I have a regular cab So I’ll be fine not something you want...

This makes 0 sense to me! Heater hose route

My 84 came with this setup, water pump is plugged off. Somebody told me it was the HD cooling option which makes sense as my truck came from Nevada. Hope this is helpful.
