    Steering Column Swap

After reading RetroC10Sport's killer post, I wonder how these columns are identified. For example, I need a 238-237A. Will this be stamped on the column? I've searched the numbers and get nothing pertinent. I'm looking to put a tilt wheel in my '73 K-10 and do not want a column that's longer...

    Steering column interchange

This is a great bit of research. I looked it over and found what I'm looking for but have a question. If the 238-237A column is what I need, are those numbers stamped on the column? How do I ID the actual column? -THANKS!

    NP205 Driven gear

I have the screw in "retainer" part and the gear. Unfortunately my pics won't download, so I used a web pic. The "screw in part" threads into the tranny over the gear shaft, and the speedo table threads onto it. Does the o-ring go over the shaft after the screw in part goes on, or does the screw...

    NP205 Driven gear

What seals this from the inside? Rubber o-rings? Flat nylon? Pressure fit? It appears to have place for seal, but mine has none. The search window, as usual produced nothing, so I'm asking anyone who might know. -Thanks

RTV to stop yoke leak on 205 front output?

Thanks for the help. I put a decent bead around the washer and torqued it down. Nothing directly on/in the splines. The rubber seal for the rear output actually sits flush with the surface that the nut/washer torque down on. It gets compressed, but is not sandwiched directly in between the two...

RTV to stop yoke leak on 205 front output?

I just applied it to the washer and torqued it down.

RTV to stop yoke leak on 205 front output?

Should I just apply it to the washer and torque it down? I found a rubber star seal for my rear 32 spline, but front is 10 spline. Any help is appreciated. The large main seal was replaced btw...

    WTF?

Inside the housing on the carrier. Very unusual.

    WTF?

Cleaning up my Dana 44 front and found a bondo like substance on the driver side of the carrier. It was about the size of a quarter and on a casting. It was light color and had a stubborn green paint like substance mixed in. Hard to believe that it belonged there so I removed it. Green stains on...

    Dana 44 Axel bearings?

That blows me away. 50 seemed like I was stretching the studs. 65 seems like it would snap them... Thanks for the exploded view. Is it Chilton?

    79 K-10 parts on my 73

I've been picking a 79 for parts and I wonder if the front and rear leaf springs will work on my '73. I believe the 73 to be stock with two leaves in front, but I actually have 8 in the rear. They're not in the greatest condition, but I like how the truck sits. Do the 79 fronts have different...

    Dana 44 Axel bearings?

Where did you get the 50 ft lb spec? Do you have a link? Everything I see leads me to the large double spindle nuts inside the hub...

    Dana 44 Axel bearings?

Thanks for the info, but I'm actually talking about the six 9/16 spindle/splash guard nuts. I saw a chart that had torque at 65 ft lbs and even 50 seems high... I'm using Timkens with some good high temp red grease that I'll hand pack.
