Would anyone know where you can get the front wheel 4x 4 inserts ? I have one NOS insert, part number
14068909. the "4s" on this insert are red and orange. The original ones on my truck are (or were) yellow.
I know that the rear ones are offered in yellow but how can I get a matching set ? LMC...
Hello all
I now have the A833 transmission and associated parts out of the truck if anyone is
interested. I am trying to recall who had expressed interest a few months back. They
were from north Dakota I beleive. So if anyone needs one, no reasonable offer refused.
Hello,
I am in Westchester County New York and am looking for a 700 R4 K case 4x4 core. Meaning a
rebuildable transmission for a 1986 K10 pickup. Anyone local know of one ?
Thanks
Hey thanks all. That's a relief to know it will all bolt in. I just want to make sure the cross member does not have to be changed ? Last I checked the a 833 was 27 1/2 inches and
the 208 was 19"
Yes I will be selling the A-833 if anyone is interested...the 305 also
Hello
I actually have one of these transmissions. Still in the truck that I ordered back in 1986. A 305 with a 4 speed with overdrive. I was interested in saving gas which I forget how much a gallon it was then, but beyond anyone's imagination now.
I am in the process of restoring the truck...
1986 Chevrolet Chevrolet K10 305 CID small block with A833 manual 4 speed w/overdrive transmission. Rare all original combination. Motor runs well and was well taken care of. Oil change every 2000 miles. Original power-train in pickup truck
Thanks I beleive that I will use them. Stay away from ATS. They will send you what they want . Not what you need or ask for. Dealing with them has been miserable.
I am replacing the leaf springs in the rear of my 1986 Chevrolet K10. I would like to retain the stock ride and height. The original springs are 4/1 or 5 leafs.
Can anyone recommend a good replacement spring ?
I am trying to take the rear out of my 86 K10. The rear leaf spring bolts came out pretty easy but the front bolts , of the rear leaf springs, closest to the cab wont budge. Any one know of a solution ?
So what would be the recommendation for stock height leaf spring replacement for a 1986 Chevrolet K10 ? There seems to be so many out there I thought I would ask the forum. I want to retain the same height.
No lift.
Thanks for all the advice. I dont want to grind the heads because the bed is pretty pristine. On 6 of the 8 i was able to get 3 -4 thread turns before the square part of the carriage bolt came out of its square hole. This allowed me enough room to put a cut off tool between the nut and bottom of...
Hello All,
I am having a lot of difficulty removing the carriage bolts that hold the bed onto my 1986 K10 Pickup. If I get them to turn a bit as soon as the square part of the bolt is higher than the square hole in the bed the bolt spins freely. The bolt is hard to get at to cut underneath...
Thanks All. The pictures are usefull because I couldn't tell where the other 'hanger' was for the spring. I could see one side but hopefully will be able to put a new spring in now that I know where it goes
