Would “horror of horrors” Ford T-55(?) bed carriage bolts and this style caged nut work on a Squarebody?
I need to pull the bed off my C10 to add a bolt in C notch. Trying to preplan for any factory bolts that end up spinning. The factory hardware is in overall great shape, but the bed floor...
Practice makes perfect. 90s Rangers are a dime a dozen. 80s Squarebodies, not so much.
Ralph, out of Texas originally, is nowhere near as crusty. By practicing on this sold new in Columbus MS “funk and nastiness”, will make refreshing the C10 go more smoothly.
2 rivets, 2 linked bolts.
Kinda crusty, yep, model brush and dtm oil based enamel. Gets in the rough spots more readily.
Instant 2” leveling job. Will do passenger side, add traction bars and spring clamps.
Practice run for a frame that matters.
A lot of this stuff is the exact same process on any truck/trucklette. And I’d rather Barney be the “utility pickup” than Ralph or Whiskey Bent.
And unlike Ralph? Parts are affordable…
Today. Had to add more oil to Ralph’s core support bolts. Stubborn F’ers…
Will be changing pump/sending unit/gasket. After I pull and flush the polyethylene fuel tank. Will be changing the fuel filler neck/hose, $200 Vatozone 1yr warranty or $35 Fleabay 1yr warranty? Hmm… Will also change the...
While Ralph’s hardware is soaking in penetrating oil… Did some stuff to Barney. Keep in mind parked under trees, on grass, fir 8.5-9 years. Bed was full of rotting leaves, black walnuts and live weeds.
No rust through… Did those yesterday. Toolbox was from a friend who is moving, cleaning out...
Shelby, our ought as well be daughter, her Merle Pittie “Spacey Acey” and her current Danger Ranger.
Why yes, I am in fact tacky enough to do the 94 East LA style.
Gotta pull Ralph’s front end off.
I have braided stainless AN line kits for the transmission (Th400) and engine oil coolers. Both sets came with factory in tank cooler to AN adapter fittings. Russel brand if I remember correctly for the oil cooler. Generic for the transmission cooler. Will be running similar for the ps cooler.
Big block radiator with built in oil cooler. Truck is also getting an upsized power steering cooler. Both are coming out of a 92 K1500, block is actually a 1979 date code. Radiator is out of the K10 mud racer that initially donated the engine as well. Will be running the 1992 waterpump...
