DIY Junkyard Wiper Motor and Intermittent Module Retrofit/Upgrade

I honestly don't know what that is either. It's probably some accent lighting for the wiper switch when the headlights are on.

DIY Junkyard Wiper Motor and Intermittent Module Retrofit/Upgrade

I can't use the Camaro speedo because its cable driven. My '73 has a 5.3/4L80E so I needed an electronic speedo, using the 80-91 squarebody cluster was the easiest option. I put a voltmeter gauge in the original oil pressure gauge location, but it's wired to read my fuel level. I just need to...

Yup, mid-80's V8 Camaro tach in a '89-91 Squarebody cluster with electronic speedometer, all in a '73 C10

Got some time to put the interior back together. Hard to tell that anything has been modified at all.

The only thing holding me back from releasing this as a kit would be the fabricated arm. Even if I could get the arm laser cut and bent, that would still leave the buyer needing to transfer and weld in the pivot ball.

Good News! The wiper motor kit is in and its working great. Here's quick video of the motor in action: Quick explanation of what's going on in the video. 1. Shot of the motor and the moving linkage 2. Low speed 3. High speed 4. Fast intermittent 5. Slow intermittent

The Toyota wiper motor has a tapered knurled round shaft instead of the slotted hole of the Chevy wiper motor. I decided to cut and reuse the Toyota wiper arm part with the corresponding knurled hole because hole has around 14 degrees of taper and I couldn't find a reamer with that angle on it.

So here is the motor to linkage arm that I just finished welding up. Showing the original arm below for comparison. Not the best welds in the world, but the piece is solid and should be ok for what I'm using it for. It'll look a lot better after some grinder action and some paint. Hole to...

I don't think this this will end up being a problem. Just holding both of the motors, the Camry motor feels 1.5 to 2x heavier. Probably a lot more copper windings for the Camry motor and a lot more torque.

DIY Junkyard Wiper Motor and Intermittent Module Retrofit/Upgrade

This all started when the wiper motor in '73 failed. Tried turning the wiper motor arm by hand, it was completely seized. I was already looking at upgrading to intermittent wipers and sourcing a steering column, but I thought I could come up with something better. I couple things I wanted to try...

    Arduino powered fuel injector tester.

Honestly, its probably fine. But since it doesn't cost me anything to flow them, I'll try and get it a bit closer. I can always sell a close set of 4 to the honda guys since they're starting to use the decapped injectors now, and use that cash to get some more injectors.

    Arduino powered fuel injector tester.

Finished making my flow rig and flowed about 20 injectors, still don't have a perfectly matched set. The closest set of 8 is within 2.5% dynamically and perfect on the static test. Gotta go back to the junkyard and get some more. How everything is wired up on the back, might be a little...

    Arduino powered fuel injector tester.

I'm doing the same thing, just built the frame today. Still waiting on parts but getting ready for that decapped goodness. I'll be using Dale's code and modified the dynamic test so it goes through the following ranges: 600rpm @85%DC = 30 low 170 high For 5 Sec = 25 cycles 1200rpm @85%DC...

    5.3 LS w/4L80 Mystery Noise

I think the problem was that air was trapped in the cooler since it was being filled from the top. Once I flipped the lines around and filled the cooler from the bottom, all the air was able to be purged and properly lubricate whatever is on the cooler return side of the transmission.

    LS swap questions

I agree, thats the safer option. But around here, people want $750-1000 for just a 4.8 w/accessories, no trans and 100k+ miles. I wanted to do my swap on a budget, so I took a chance.
