Any original squares out there?
Can't find a pic of my 78 Silverado. Rebuilt the motor with some go fast stuff, replaced the hood and rims but no other changes from my hand. Previous owner replaced rear bumper (I think) and drilled god awful holes in the front bumper to move the bumper stops outward to put on an aftermarket...- ruffneckred

thanks, I am debating changing it to the push in style. I had no luck at auto parts store, I now own a non fitting grommet for my collection. So after much neglect I am tinkering with my 78 K10. In the process of searching for probably non existant vacuum leaks I found the PCV grommet to be junk. Thought I found one at O'Really's but it is too big, I believe the errant purchase was 3/4" ID, 1.22" OD. ID seems right but OD was way...- ruffneckred

Sorry I didn't get back to respond promptly. The tail gate would not close. After wrestling it on workbench I jammed chisel in each latch bolt to keep them in. Hello, hope is not a problem to revive and old thread. The tailgate on my 78 wouldn't latch. Took out the 3 screw, but damned if I can get even the lower (passenger side) rod off, there is just not enough clearance. Seems like the handle doesn't pull up very far too.
