Electrical Load Causing Weak Blower Motor?

One more thing no one has mentioned is grounds. We tend to think in terms of supply, and ignore the grounds. On our trucks, there are four devices that need to be connected for grounds to work: the battery, the alternator/engine block, the frame and the cab. There is a small wire from the...

    305 serious sludge

I'll second Mobil 1. The other thing that leads to engine gunk is no PCV valve or a broken PCV valve. Make sure you have a functional PCV valve on the engine. Just get a new one to be sure; they're cheap. If the PCV valve's been removed, put it back. Blow-by of the exhaust gases past the rings...

    K5 3” lift question

Haven't seen anybody mention this possibility. I went with a Tuff Country 2" on the front and 3" on the rear of my K10. They'll set up that kit for you if that's what you want. It made the fender cutouts on the front and rear match in height, and it was a good look. Ride was MUCH better. No...

dose anyone have any good pictures of a 3inch body lift

I did a 3" suspension lift in the rear and 2" suspension lift in the front. I thought it looked pretty good. A body lift, though? Much more work, and looks funky.

    Dual tank install

Make sure you know what year the bed is. The tank setup changed in 1979. It changes the filler necks and hoses, and the wrong ones won't work. LMC has all the parts you need except the Pollak valve, but you can find those. They're about a hundred bucks.

K20 upgrades. EDELBROCK AVS II. Why so negative ?

I ran with the Edelbrock. I played with the springs to get the mixture change to kick in at the right spot. I also put an AFR meter on it and played with the jets and rods to tune the AFR to precise values. Together with a thermac air cleaner and cold-air induction, I was giving it 95-degree air...

    fixing hood hinges

You can't get grease in all the little tight spots in those hinges. Before you buy new, hit them with Kroil and see if that fixes the problem. Kroil

    350 small block

Nobody mentioned the fact that the choke on an Edelbrock (and many other carbs) will stay in the 'warm engine' position (choke plate open) when the engine is turned off. I always needed one accelerator push to the floor for a first-key-on start. That takes the choke off the 'warm engine'...

Can the heater core be turned off?

I just put a ball-valve in one of the lines and shut it off in the summer. No issues over several years with a first-gen 350 crate engine.

    Cooling Questions and Concerns

Couple things. - 350s usually run cold. Cooling them isn't an issue. The big blocks typically run hot, and it can be an issue. I closed off the bleed hole in the thermostat, which lets some coolant circulate all the time, and drilled a smaller one. Winter engine temps went up and mileage...
