    Unlock barn doors from inside

I have just installed a pull string to open barn doors from inside. It's just a string that I've attached to the rod that goes to the bottom latch. I made a hole in the plastic plug next to the window and finished the string with a loop and some bead to prevent it from falling inside the door. I...

    Howdy from Poland

Same in Poland We have no follow up inspections after the initial one when registering on "yellow plates", unless it's a vehilcle used for income (rental, weddings, limo, etc.) No limitations as of now The nice thing we have is that not only the insurance is very cheap, but it also does not...

    Modified engine crewcab gas mileage?

I'd love to see these curves for our engines, so far my engine knowledge seems to be proven not applicable to old American V8's. Usually low RPM and almost lugging the engine is what's best for MPG as both the friction and pumping losses are minimized, but not with small and big blocks. Answer...

    Issues with seatbelts

I'm revisiting my seatbelt topic as since the winter has finished I started to drive my Burb more. Since my last post I've made my right rear seatbelt work ok-ish, see the thread for details: https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/seatbelt-construction-repair-with-pictures.44040/ For the front...

    V1500 suspension question

That's a one, big lift block you have in the rear. My rear springs look slightly different, I don't have that plastic around the bracket keeping the leafs together. I can't tell from the picture, but to you have a tiny lift block also in the front axle?

    Pumping Air to a Catalyst

In an S2000 I had some time ago an electric pump run for a minute after a cold start on a timer and it shut off during acceleration. I guess you could make it vacuum controlled. That's a good idea, both moving to a small metal sports cat converter closer to the headers and wrapping the exhaust...

    Suburban Rear Cargo leaks

Resurrecting the old thread as after a car wash I found a small pond splashing around in a spare tire well. Are there any known working DIY fixes instead of replacing the whole gasket?

    700R4 Information Thread

Maybe an unusual question, but do you know what's the volume of fluid pumped by the oil pump in this transmissions? It's just out of my curiosity to undersand how the auto transmissions works and how efficient it is. By knowing volume and pressure (and pump efficiency) a hp loss can be calculated .

Oil Pressure Drops After High RPM

It's a recommended weight for 1990 350 TBI, So at least in 1990 they were designed for that oil weight It looks like there is way below minimum, if it's on a cold engine and it's parked on level ground then it's most likely what dipstick has collected from a dipstick tube on a way up. Once you...

Brought home my first square body. 1980 Silverado C10. Utah

As Ali said there are plenty of shows and YT channels focused on reviving old junk. Stay Tuned did a straight six Square body recently, Vice Grip Garage did plenty of revivals. There are couple of others, like pole barn garage, junkyard digs, etc, but i don't watch them frequently. The...

    RETRO-Mod: Jeep intermediate steering shaft

I will need to do something similar. I was turning wheel hard with engine off and managed to make it loose again. In the one I got shaft goes through rubber and ends with two "wings" on the joint side that would hit the yoke if the rubber would ever fail and would also prohibit the shaft from...

    Oil gauge issue

I've successfully used PTFE (aka Teflon) tape, not too much of it. Just verify with multimeter that there is less than 1 ohm between engine block and sensor body.
