S-10 2.8 TBI runs rough midway through warmup

My 87 S10 2.8 with a 4sp trans acted like that one time and it ended up being a vacuum line. IIRC, there was one that came to a T junction and ran down behind the engine and by the transmission. Also had one rot off that went to the canister. Replaced the CTS another time and that is probably it...

    Flywheel and Pressure plate bolts

Oh that is in the old block, so I wont be doing anything further with that motor. I'm the super slow guy with a brand new BP engine. I probably should have used that thread for this but I'm embarrassed to admit its taking me this long to get the motor in/done. I was hoping my next post in that...

    Flywheel and Pressure plate bolts

Here's the old pilot bearing. Running yr finger over the edge you can feel it got kocked up somehow as it has a sharp edge sticking up. I almost believe the oring seal is on the wrong side of the recess. As I understand it, the seal should be facing the trans side to keep grease in and trash out.

    Flywheel and Pressure plate bolts

Thanks all, I've got a new pivot ball and clutch forkin the shopping cart. The boot was MIA so one's in there as well. Alot of reading suggest the bushing is preferred. My only thoughts is this truck isn't going to be a daily driver by no means. Pulling a 7K lb tractor around some but nothing...

    Flywheel and Pressure plate bolts

Does it matter if the old engine removed had a (needle) pilot bearing vs the Luk clutch assembly I bought has a pilot bushing? Its a manual transmission. EDIT: After actually opening the plastic the pilot was in to see it better it is a pilot bearing and not a bushing. I guess I'll use the...

Heres another shot of the release bearing wear marks.

    Flywheel and Pressure plate bolts

It would have been great if when I removed the engine I had gone ahead and removed the bell housing and clutch fork to inspect for wear or broken parts. So lesson learnt. Broken clutch fork retainer spring, worn pivot ball, and release bearing looks to have the signs that the spring was on the...

    Flywheel and Pressure plate bolts

Is it acceptable to reuse the Flywheel and pressure plate bolts? Just resurfaced the flywheel for the new BluePrint 5.7 and ready to put on the new Luk clutch disk and pressure plate. thanks Tom

    1987 R10 oil pressure switch location/leaking

That's what I was thinking...I have permatex thread sealant in a tube.

    1987 R10 oil pressure switch location/leaking

While this discussion is going on, should the two pipes that thread into the block have thread sealant on them? I dont recall seeing a torque spec on them either but my thinking is that they should be tightened to really snug but not crazy snug.

    Intake Manifold bolt length question

Ordered some intake manifold bolts and would like to know If I should be concerned that the new ARP bolts are shorter than the originals. New ones are smaller heads and IMO would need to have the washers which shortens them that much more vs originals. Is this normal or should I just go buy...

    TBI I need help

@GR Jonesy This may seem silly, but any chance you could go back and replace the old parts back excepting the injectors("Replaced TPS IAC plugs MAP sensor"). Just in case you can get it back to a rough idle at least. But first, go thru the checklist procedures probably smartest thing you can do...

    Blue Print or GM Performance

Right on @tadslc .... the teeth look to be in great shape and the surface I think shouldn't take much true up. From the few clutch disk I've seen this one has right much life left in it but I'm going new and hope it will be a long time before it ever needs replacing.
