To Tint or Not to Tint

I like the tint on the back window but since I use my side mirrors when I reverse i find it hard to see when I back up in the dark with the tint on the side mirrors. I have to roll the windows down to see where I'm backing up at night.

How are the factory dual saddle fuel tanks supposed to be routed?

You probably should think about switching to the '87 style switching valve. It has all the fuel ports for feed and return and electric connectors for pump and sending unit for each tank. Each tank individualy converges at the switching valve. The main/auxiliary switch in the cab is wired to the...

    Bell housing for 383 stroker?

THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!! Wow, that bracket info saved me a ton of head scratching and creative language out in the garage. Especially since this is my first square body and this seems to be a Frankentruck, I'm not really sure what's supposed to be there and isn't. Now I can borrow under there later...

    Bell housing for 383 stroker?

@nvrenuf forget about sending the link again. The original one works. I'm just a dud with technology. That's why I bought a 40 year old truck. Lol

    Bell housing for 383 stroker?

@nvrenuf can you send that link again? It didn't seem to show up. I would love to see that picture with all the brackets I need.

    Bell housing for 383 stroker?

VIN says its a 1986 K20. It has K10 axles but I have no reason to believe it was anything much more than an axle swap. I'm not an expert but the springs look to be K20 springs with a leaf added front and back for a small lift. And yes it still is a 4x4.

    Bell housing for 383 stroker?

Sorry guys I was getting part names messed up. Here are some pics. Looks like i am looking for the bottom half of what is possibly a 2 piece bell housing? It just seems weird to me that the torque converter and flex plate are exposed.

    Bell housing for 383 stroker?

No. Looks like someone changed it from manual to a 700r4 before i got the truck and didn't install a bell housing. I want to install one. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think 400 sbc were ever mated to a 700r4 from factory, and since the stroker engine has a flywheel from a 400 sbc, i was...

    Bell housing for 383 stroker?

I hope I'm in the right thread group. When I bought my truck it didn't have a bell housing on it. It has a 383 stroker mated to a 700r4 tranny. On visual inspection, it does look like it has the externally ballenced 400 sbc flywheel. I want to put a bell housing on but am unsure what to get...

    Adapting a flatbed to a 1981 gmc 3500 / k30

I would recommend trying to find the factory type bed cross rails that that would have bolted onto your frame from Factory. They are the right height to match the top of those wheel humps on the frame so you have a nice level mounting points to attach the flatbed too without having to make...

    Adapting a flatbed to a 1981 gmc 3500 / k30

I put an aluminum flat bed on a single wheel 1 ton truck at work last spring and the flatbed we got had 2 rails that ran from the front to the back of the bed and were attached to each of the cross rails on the bed by what essentially was a bunch of little clamp type fasteners. Only had to...

    Muffler recommendations

Yeah it was similar to Magnaflow in sound. Although what I had wasn't called FlowFX it was designed and built like the FlowFX series they are selling now. It had the same straight through design encased in stainless steel like the FX series. I remember looking into one end of the muffler and...

    Muffler recommendations

They didn't have that many options back then, but I just looked at what they are selling now and what I had seems to now be be the FlowFX series mufflers. Sorry for the slow response.
