    Thank you... a mechanic suggested 10w-40 and I did it today... now the motor has a small sound almost like a diesel motor. Like it sounds like a faint, diesel engine sound... should I drain and go with 10-30?

    84 C10... Installed a new radio and the yellow inline 1amp fuse keeps popping as soon as I turn the volume up. Not even really loud. Just as I turn it in the glass fuse blows. Any suggestions? Thanks

    UPDATE... took out ESC distributor... installed regular HEI vacuum controlled distributor, re-timed, adjusted carb and runs like a top! Idles great and acceleration is fine. Thanks for all the help

    I see how... by connecting the black and green wires from distributor... so you can just run the truck like that with no issues?

    Appreciate the feedback. The research I have seen show eliminating the ESC actually helps with a lot of things. It was my call, but again, thanks for your POV.

I finally brought it to my mechanic because I exhausted everything I could do and he thinks it is the electronic control module because the vehicle is originally from California so it has all kinds of admissions on...
