Well I have the engine and trans for the truck, Vortec 8100 and Allison 1000. Engine, trans, harness and etc $1400 on FB Market Place. I get to keep the big block and get an overdrive.
Unless that dually is absolutely damage and rust free, like no rot, cracked fiberglass or dents whatsoever, I’d pass. Unless you really need the dually. The 454/SM465 is a killer tow combo. I had a c30 dually like that with 4.10 I towed stupid weight with it at reasonable speed.

From what I understand it’s a fee to unlock the ECM individually on the L8T, it’s per VIN. I was told I could run a E38 ECM but it would complicate the cruise control, if even possible. Like I said I’m trying to learn as much as I can before I make the final decision.

This is my concern with the 4 speed auto and 1-1 gear, the 6l90 has a 1.15-1. So with 3.73 and 1.15-1 gear you’d have a final gear reduction of 4.30 where the 1-1 and 4.10 would be at 4.10.
