Fusible link keeps blowing over and over
I just regained power to dash and ignition in my 82 c10, however now when I turn the truck over and it starts it immediately blows the fuse in my fusible link near the solenoid. The link down by the starter is fine but the other one blows every time it attempts to start. Any ideas on what the...- kdurham1982

UPDATE: I cleaned some ground up and spliced in some fuseable links and now I have power to dash and everything again however, now when I turn the engine over and it starts as soon as it starts it blows the fuse in the fuseable link I just installed. Believe I found my problem I found this spliced on not so good. What’s the best way too replace this do I need the whole knew wire or can I splice it with connectors- kdurham1982

I have a 1982 sierra stepside with the 250 v6 in it that I’m getting ready for a 350 ci swap. I went to move it one day and hooked battery up and it started smoking from the firewall/ wiring harness area.
