First pull the spark plugs and see what they look like, oily(hopefully not), black, gray or brown electrode damage and such. Before you start tinkering with the carb, check for vacuum leaks with a can of carb cleaner. Also buy a vacuum gauge and check the reading off the base plate port of the...- K20SM465

What is this
It’s funny how different manufacturers put dampers on and in various spots. I can remember seeing them having double dampers hanging off either side of the yoke end of the rear axles on some vehicles.- K20SM465

Almost ready for the new metal. Couple more measurements/test fits then should be ready to go. -

No it never was a military truck. Not to say the transmission could’ve been swapped out before though. It’s a factory diesel civilian version is all he knows. The guy he bought it from sold it cheap to him because he couldn’t get it to crank up. Help my buddy bleed all the lines and it’s running...- K20SM465

Asking for a buddy who bought a 1982 C10 with the diesel engine. I told him I thought it was a counter weight/anti vibration piece but not sure as I’ve never owned a truck with an automatic transmission.- K20SM465

Adding what I paid for the truck, the bed and parts to repair my cab, I will only have about $2000 to $2100 in it so far. One of my son’s friends, who works at an auto body shop, is helping me with all the work for a six pack of beer every time he comes out. By the time I’m done even with paint... -

Took the hood, left fender and both doors off. Inner, outer rockers and floors getting replaced. Along with the cab supports under the floors.
