Hi Spencer, I have the 74 service manual lt shows only 1 retaining ring. The text however is quite clear about bending the long tab of the retainer into a slot of the outer nut……
I may have just answered my own question. The one retainer is used for both retaining nuts. Let me try that otherwise...
Hi Guys, I’ve got a 1974 C20 11” drums and I disassembled them to check brakes and bearings. Upon inspection and reviewing the service manual it appears I’m short a retaining ring on both sides. Disassembly was one retaining nut, a tanged retainer and then a retaining nut and flat washer with...
I have a 1974 c20 and it has GVW of 6400lbs with 11” drums. When I had them off they were so heavy that I couldn’t carry them upstairs to the sandblaster. I can’t imagine trying to deal with the 13” drums. Joe

That’s interesting. Had a similar problem on my recently acquired 1974 c20. Finally went to eBay and got two brand new door locks with 2 keys for $12. Joe

I got 4 panels from LMC and was surprised by their thickness a weight. I’m new to the truck resto and didn’t know about AMD. I’ll have to see if they have a current catalog.
I’m looking for a 308 or so gearing for my 1974 c20. Don’t like the 410’s I currently have. I’d be looking for a drum to drum swap if anybody is interested. Joe
