    Tuff Country Lift Kit Experience

Hello, I decided on a 2” lift because I wanted to use the narrow 285/75/16 on the factory 7” rims. This keeps the tire completely under the fender. It actually measured to be about a 3-1/2” lift combining the lift and the tires. Good luck, and please do your research if you are considering...

    Anti-Theft Security

Vehicular theft in our area is at an all-time high, with an average of 81 cars/trucks being stolen daily in two neighboring Washington State counties. Many of these are older classics. I understand that nothing is an absolute solution, but I felt that I had to do what I can to thwart any effort...

    Warped/Bent/Bowed Rear Bumper

I was able to correct most of the warp by manipulating combinations of the mounting bolts and brackets, and systematically ”adjusting” the shape of the bumper with a floor jack while the bumper was mounted on the truck. The metal is thin enough to allow cold forming in this manner. Worked for...

Distributor bat terminal remote kill switch/

I just installed the Painless Performance Remote Master Disconnect Kit 30206 on my 1978 K20. I removed the battery and battery support, and mounted the solenoid under the battery support. It cannot be accessed without removing the battery and support. I routed the wires back to the driver’s side...

    Warped/Bent/Bowed Rear Bumper

I am experiencing problems with finding a new rear chrome bumper without impact strip for a 1978 K20. I am attempting to find a new bumper that is straight and level along the top, and devoid of any bends/warps and/or misshaped areas. I have purchased and returned (2) new bumpers; one from...

    Upper Heater Hose

Thanks for the reply’s. It’s not the trans lines. They are below this port. I called the radiator shop that attempted to re-built it. The tech told me that this port is threaded for a plug when not in use. The 3/4” upper heater hose fits over the port and uses a standard clamp.

    Upper Heater Hose

Hello, I just installed a new direct fit/replacement radiator with brass tanks on my 1978 K20. It’s a 350/auto with no air conditioning. The upper radiator hose connected to the radiator on the upper, passenger side. I attempted to have the original rebuilt, but it was too far gone and they...

    Pre-molded rubber fuel lines

Hello, Does anyone know of a source for the two pre-molded rubber fuel lines that connect the hard lines to the fuel pump on a 1978 K10 5.7/350? I have found the “sidewinder” universal sections, but these are single plane bends. The factory hoses are dual plane bends (horizontal & vertical). I...

    33X12.5X15 Mud Terrain Tires

I am running BFG All Terrain KO2’s - 285/75R16’s. They are narrower than the 33x12’s. They are relatively quite, but do pick up smaller rocks on gravel. Not enough of a detriment for me, as I really like the look of a tall, narrow tire on my truck.

    Tuff Country Lift Kit Experience

Another major issue is that one of the included rear Tuff Country SX8000 shocks was completely locked in the compressed position, and could not be extended. I immediately reported this problem to Tuff Country, and the tech informed me a replacement shock would be shipped overnight. I received...

    Door Hinge Assembly Replacement

Hello, I am about to replace all (4) door hinge assemblies on my 1978 K20 with new assemblies from LMC. I have researched the removal/installation process. Has anyone done a full replacement without removing the front fenders? Is this even possible? Thanks for your time and consideration. Jim
