truck is not sitting level - need help diagnosing

@SquareRoot , agreed. @FireTruck1984 Thank you. I didn't mean to be literal when I said my truck was "perfectly" level now. I should have said something like, "it looks level now" :)

truck is not sitting level - need help diagnosing

Another update: I didn't make any changes to the right leaf spring hangers that I mentioned in my last update. I moved on, and lowered my truck with drop coils, drop spindles, and an axle flip kit. To my pleasant surprise my truck sits perfectly level now. Including more info here as I...

I took my bed off last week too. I found that the leaf spring front hangers are not positioned the at the same height relative to the top of frame rails on the left and right leaf springs. This results in one leaf spring being higher than the other and the truck being lower on the right. I plan...

truck is not sitting level - need help diagnosing

Yes, I could use a grinder to cut it flush but I would really like to lower the bracket by a half inch instead to lower the axle relative to the frame. Does anyone that lowered their rear end using lowering hangers still have the factory hangers and want to sell them?

truck is not sitting level - need help diagnosing

Update one year later. I took the bed off my truck. I found that the leaf spring hangers (front of leaf's, not rear shackle brackets) are not mounted at the same height relative to the top of the frame rail. I'm really curious to know if anyone else has run into this. I need to take measurements...

    What are these brackets?

    Thank you!

    What are these brackets?

Hi. Found these in a box of parts that came with my 77 C10. Box had been sitting for ten years. Anybody know what they are for? They are a symmetrical pair. Not sure if they are interior parts, engine compartment or elsewhere. Thanks.

@benz88 nice truck. Did you end up replacing the leaf springs? Did that level the truck from left to right. I've had the same issue. However I replaced the leaf springs first and it didn't do much. I'm probably going to replace the front coils next but trying to decide on some lowering options...

truck is not sitting level - need help diagnosing

update: Received the Husky springs and installed them with new hardware and shackle bushings. truck rear sits about 1.5" higher than previous so the old springs were sagging. However... the truck is still lower on right but not as noticeable. Based on all prior comments and further inspection, I...

truck is not sitting level - need help diagnosing

I ended up adding another 3/8" spacer to first 3/8" spacer. Total of 3/4" between the axle and right rear leaf spring. This leveled the truck left to right. For my permanent fix (I hope), I decided to order new leaf springs. Ordered the stock replacements with new u-bolts and bushings from...

truck is not sitting level - need help diagnosing

(edit: I posted the update below without having seen the prior two posts. Maybe I'll use the 1/8" plates just for sizing, and then get a single spacer. Might still go for new springs. I'll consider it. I have a 2000 F150 that I use as a truck for hauling, etc. My C10 is just for cruising in nice...

truck is not sitting level - need help diagnosing

Kim, (anyone) I like your idea of using a block under the right side leaf spring and I would like to try this before pulling the trigger on new leaf springs. Can you help point me to the 1/2 blocks - which vendor, other sources? I did some googling and don't think I was searching with the right...

truck is not sitting level - need help diagnosing

Thanks, all. Some more answers to your questions: Measured from the ground to bottom of frame rails near the rear: Left 17-3/8 Right 17 The rails are less than 3' apart at that position. Extending this offset across 6' of truck width is 3/4" plus. Front rails on left is only 1/8"...

truck is not sitting level - need help diagnosing

Thanks for your replies. Answers to your questions here: Tire pressure is good. Visual inspection of leaf spring bushings is good. Pictures attached of right leaf spring bushings. Body mount bushings good. Previous owner did a restoration approx 15-20 years ago. Maybe 10K miles since. That's...
