    Not to dismiss the sandblast idea but a wire wheel or cup will accomplish the same result. Spray the bare metal with an epoxy primer and send it to the glass shop.

    You need to make sure that if you have an electrical (Battery) problem or lock the keys in the truck you can still actuate the doors and hood manually. Ive seen it done with bicycle brake cables in the engine compartment fished into the door but you still have to raise the hood on these trucks...

    Check the drive gear in the 700r4 where the mechanical cable bolts to the trans. You may have a gearing issue. Talk to a tranny shop to advise on the proper gears
