Just get a B&W hitch. https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Chevrolet/C/K+Series+Pickup/1984/BWHDRH25122.html?VehicleID=198422501
It will clear the step bumper and you can still use the spare tire underneath. They include a relocation bracket for the spare tire. I looked at my B&W hitch and it...
I know. The prices on these stock replacement pads are way too high considering they are most likely made in a sweat shop in China, but a custom pad would look way out of place on my otherwise bone stock truck, so stock it will have to be.
I just did some googling and it looks like FEY is a non OEM Bumper with 800lb tongue weight and 8,000 trailer weight. I never expected it to have this high of a rating, so I think I'll just stick to this bumper hitch.

The weight sticker is mostly gone, but I was actually able to make out the tongue rating of 800 lbs. Made by FEY. This rating is a lot higher than I expected. It might be ok for my needs after all.
Can anyone recommend a good quality trailer hitch receiver for my 1987 with step bumper? I'm looking for good quality, easy, no drill installation. It just has a bumper hitch on it now. Anyone have a guess on the tongue rating it currently has with this bumper?
You are better off using Equal in the tires instead of weights for large, difficult to balance tires.
Its can be a tedious job balancing some tires. I've had vibration issues that couldn't even get resolved using road force balancers.
