AC or not to Ac is the question
I took all of the HVAC stuff off of my 78 K5. I live in a temperate area and don't see the need for all of the complications and gas consumption. It really cleaned up the engine compartment. -

That is overkill for that engine. The 4l60 will handle about 350-400HP- cstew47

What do I need for a fuel pump replacement?
I would replace the pushrod. Why take a shower and put on dirty underwear? I'm not familiar with a mounting plate. Maybe I was just not paying attention.- cstew47

Aluminum head thoughts
I have an older Brodix head that works well on my 383. I assume you are taking the piston configuration account. That will, of course, affect the CR. As a side note, if you're completely rebuilding your 350, for a few sheckles more you can convert it to a 383 and have a torque monster.- cstew47

What type of transfer case do I have in my truck ?
The 205 is a stronger case and eliminates the chain, however, you may have to install locking hubs.- cstew47

Agreed. I have always favored the 700r4 or the 4l60, but, I'm old school. It's great to be able to put in low rear gears and still be comfortable on the highway.- cstew47

I don't understand why anybody would go with another 350 for a replacement. For a small incremental price you can have a 383 stroker with a significant increase in torque. It all fits in the same space and uses the same accessory set.- cstew47

Wow, I can add that to my knowledge base. Thanks. I should have known. That was back when you could get Sunoco high octane gas (105?) for .35 - .45/gal. $1.00 would carry you all night.
