    6.2 porous block?

Yeah, I saw the J-B Weld. Somebody that JB Weld. Somebody once told me not to use brake clean for surface cleaning, because it has oil residue. He recommended, now what was it? Google it, obviously if you do decide to repair the block, you want the best sealing possibilities.

    6.2 porous block?

25 years ago I bought an oil boiler for an apartment building, and the heating coil was leaking from the gasket, so I heated up the nuts and bolts with an oxy acetylene torch, just like I would do on a car, and Snap Crackle Pop, Just Like Rice Krispies, the housing cracked out from the threaded...

    6.2 porous block?

I had a Banks on the 6 2 on which the crank broke. It really woke the 6.2 up!!

New steering box and now this....

Interestingly, the ONLY way to set up a reman box is the put an inch pound torque wrench on it and adjust the preload screw on top. Sounds like ATROCIOUS quality control! What did this surgery cost? All rebuilding shops use minimum wage laborors, and they can be sharp and conscientious, or...

Well said bucket... I just "missed" a '57 Cadillac that was a far superior car than the one I just bot. The seller of the "missed" car had a few deadbeat eBay hi bidders, and kept dropping the price until it sold just before I came along. His car was a few thousand more than mine, and loaded...

Everybody has a number in their head, but a flawed title doesn't mean anything if you're going to keep the vehicle forever. Personally I don't care if there's a salvage title, because usually when I buy stuff, I buy it to keep forever and what do I care what it's worth when I'm dead? This...

    TH400 2WD to 4WD Question

My friend has an 87 K10 with a th400 np208. 5.0 tbi The truck has about a hundred thousand miles, and is rotted to hell, but he drives it daily. It replaced an even lower mileage 87 2 wheel drive, also 5.0 th400. And far more rotted than the plow truck, which is rotted to hell!

I didn't specify a price. And I removed the driveshaft because I was having trouble with the differential on my '84 K5 Blazer with a 6.2 diesel that I plow with. I wanted to see how much play there should be in the pinion gear. It turns out my Blazer had broken spider gears. And then I found a U...

    V belts - good brand?

I had an '83 half ton short box 305 with low miles, and when I put a giant alternator on to accommodate my slow speed snow plowing, it would chew an expensive belt in no time, so I put on the El Cheapo $5 made in who knows where where land, and I never had a problem. Go figure. I've had...

    WHEEL ARCH MOLDINGS?

    Can't believe this gas mileage

Here's an example of crazy numbers. I filled up my 4-cylinder 5-speed G5, it was down to about half a tank, the tank holds 11 gallons. And go figure out why I was getting 12 miles per gallon, usually gets 28 to 32. To go over the math, I did 60 miles, my odometer is accurate, I checked it, and...
