    billet grille questions

I just bought a new chrome billet grille for my 85 k10 truck. I am wondering how the park lights mount to the new grille. Any input would be very helpful, thanks.

2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive

Make sure you measure the thickness of both of the frames. I was going to swap the front axle from a k10 to a c10. I know it can be done , but when I measured the k10 frame was thicker. I would check that before you start drilling.

    C10 k10 2wheel drive to 4 wheel drive

It really would be nice to know. I have thought about putting heavier springs under my k10 just for the payload, but then it's a rough ride, and without the axles it obviously isn't a k20. I think the best is to check out your local scrapyard, go to one that has cars all lined up so people can...

    C10 k10 2wheel drive to 4 wheel drive

I measured an 85 k10 and an 84 c10. The k10 frame was thicker than the c10 frame even where the k10 frames was. What first got me wondering was the sticker in the glove compartment saying that you can put a truck camper on the k10 but not the c10. I figured if the only difference between them...

    C10 k10 2wheel drive to 4 wheel drive

Just to let everyone know that the 4 wheel drive frames are made of thicker steel than the two wheel drives are. I measured it with a micrometer and the 4x4 frame makes the 2 wheel drive frame look like a ford ranger frame. I don't know if everyone knows this already, but if you didn't, you do now.

    C10 k10 2wheel drive to 4 wheel drive

I just tore into the new cab I got and found some rust on the cab floor where moisture got trapped under the floor mat. Also the footwell has a couple holes rusted in it about the size of a pencil eraser. I am wondering what is the best way to take out the footwell. It is not welded flush with...

    C10 k10 2wheel drive to 4 wheel drive

The 4x4 frame I was possibly going to use has a hole rusted through it. So I am down to using the 2 wheel drive frame. I hope to start working on the frame next week sometime, and I will probably post some pictures and write a little bit about putting the strait axle under the two wheel drive frame.

    C10 k10 2wheel drive to 4 wheel drive

I have no problem busting out the frame rivets. I'm just woried about screwing up a hole and the axle being slightly crooked and it eating tires on me. But I think with the donor truck I can get the holes in the right place. Thanks for the help.

    C10 k10 2wheel drive to 4 wheel drive

Does anyone know if any of the holes will line up, or is it basically starting from scratch when putting the 4x4 axle on the 2 wheel drive frame? I think I have a plan to put the brackets on the 2 wheel drive frame. Anyone wth more info or ideas throw them out there. Thanks

    C10 k10 2wheel drive to 4 wheel drive

Hey, I have both a rust free 84 Chevy c10 2 wheel drive and a 85 4 wheel drive with some major rust. The frame on the 85 may need some added steel. I have access to pretty much every tool but a lift. I bought the 84 truck for the rust free body planning to put it on the 85 frame. I am wondering...
