I bought a nice class 5 on etrailer.com. I can't remember the brand but I wanted the B&W and settled for the cheaper one. It's still a beefy beast. I don't know if there is something unique about the 89 r3500 though. etrailer.com has the best selection at the best prices.
I see used hoods all the time on marketplace for $100 or so that don't sell for weeks. There seems to be more supply than demand. I would junk a kinked one.
I don't know how you can make a C10 ride rough. Every one I ever had rode better than modern cars, especially over road construction. They just float over bumps. They just have regular soft springs and cheap shocks and 235/75r15 tires. My 03 Deville might ride better but not over road...
It's always nice to have a new fan clutch. If that doesn't fix it then I think it is a radiator flow problem. I have a bad fan clutch and my truck only overheats in high gear. It doesn't overheat at slow speeds. When it starts getting hot I put it in 2nd gear and drive slower and I can watch...
Great tip. I have had those fall out before and never knew where to get replacements. Same with the clamps. I'll bet General Spring has the clamps too.
How long have you owned this truck? I am going through an overheat issue with my truck. The fan clutch failed and it would over heat on a 3-4 mile drive. It got pinned to the red on one trip and boiled out all my coolant. I had this fan clutch in for the last 6 months with no issues and the...
I just love seeing that 74 olive green. One of my trucks is getting painted that color next time I paint one. I need to polish my gauge lens on my 76 too because I can't see through mine at all.
I was lucky to buy a few $50 Skip White distributors before he quit selling them. They are over 10 years old now and still work great. I would still try some different chinese distributors that are on the market if I needed one.
Thanks for the welcome. My babies are rough work trucks. All but one is buried in snow right now. I have had two hard drives die in the last couple years so my pics are scattered everywhere. I'll see what I can dig up.
Found this video from last summer. The 76 K20
Hi guys, I grew up on a farm and we used to work our squares when they were shiny and new in the 70's. I never had a need to buy my own until 1990 when I needed a plow truck. Now I have 5 more. When I need a work truck I only think of a square body. I just can't picture the newer trucks...
