Started getting everything taken off to pull my motor for rebuild. Haven’t ever noticed this until now. The metal tubing on one of the power steering lines is resting against the manifold. In my mind this can’t be right. Especially knowing how hot a manifold can get. Definitely a replacement at...
Thanks guys I’m bad about over thinking things. Ricko thanks that’s a lot better idea than what I had in my mind. I’ve got a lot of scrap 4x4,2x6 and 2x8 so I should be able to make that no problem. Better than my thinking of making a couple rails for the motor mounts to bolt to.
Getting ready to pull my 454 out to have it rebuilt. Like to take it to work and take the steam cleaner to it before taking it to the engine builder. Would be taking it to work and the builder on a flatbed F550. Was thinking about taking a good pallet and some scrap boards and make something to...
It is on and a good fit. Even though it fell over after I got the last cover on and knocked metal housing loose from the rubber. Now to get it on the truck this evening before the rain comes in.
Saw in some searches in the past where people have taken the tach with a fuel gauge out of the c50 or c60 trucks and replaced their fuel gauge with it. Found a C60 from the late 70s maybe early 80s at one of my farmers bone yards by his airstrip. Thought I might get some more info on what it...
Smaller transmission side I came up with 1.736larger transmission side I got 1.7375
From the bearing to where it would butt up against the step of the shaft to the backside of the slinger .9725slinger on the rear end side ID shows 1.3765
Didn’t measure it again but the ID of the bearing is 1.378...
Oriley’s finally got my bearing in and the HB88107E is the correct one measuring everything in the store. I’ll remeasure everything and take pictures tonight incase anyone in the future runs into the same problem I did and needs the measurements of this one to compare with their’s.
Surprised I haven’t gotten any kind of alert showing anyone had posted in this thread. Lots of good info and pictures. Whenever I get to actually cleaning up the wiring I’ll post a picture whether it turns out good or not.
Quick update, (since nobody ever updates with their solution)pressing the brake instead of trying to gravity bleed seems to have done the trick. Haven’t drove it to know for sure since the drive shaft is out. So I don’t know for sure if I have brakes though, but I have fluid out the bleeder...
Know what you mean, I’m not far from Peason Ridge where they filmed Tiger Valley and Fort Polk now Johnson does their training. Last few years they have either upped their game on the explosion simulator or a lot has been clear cut for sound to travel. Used to only hear stuff off in the...
I’m in Natchitoches Parish
It looks identical to the HB881107a which was exact size but not the right covers Napa had it, but couldn’t find anything on the E version. Attaching a picture of the one ordered. Assuming you’re talking about the one that has the round housing with the bracket part...
Napa wasn’t much of a help, but went back to Orileys after a friend said to talk to a guy that only works there in the morning time. We got a HB881107E coming and will be in Tuesday. Computer shows it being for a 66 c30. What info that was available on it looks like it will be the right one...
Did a lot of looking around last night because I couldn’t sleep for the thunder shaking the house. I believe that is the right number but an E instead of an A. Found several on eBay that the HB881107E has 3 covers/slingers but I can’t find the ID of the slingers.
