Tq converter for 5.3 ls swap in a 700r4
Not wanting to beat up your build plan but I also agree with the rest. Spending $3K on an older trans is not worth the money. I did the 5.3/4l603 swap on my K20 suburban which is much heavier than your truck. I am running 3.73 and 33" tires with the stock motor, no cats, all smog stuff removed...- bruisedbanana79

I have not done it yet with any of my classics that are over 1975 yet but there is a minor "loophole" here in Cali where you can insure it as a classic as long as it is over 35 years old and then go to the ref station and supposedly all they check for is fluid leaks and then do a tailpipe sniff...- bruisedbanana79

I don’t have any photos right now but I was able to retain 90% of the factory suburban exhaust for now. I know it’s only 2.25 to the mufflers but without any restrictions in the exhaust that should be good enough with true duals. Decided on a spectra cu730 radiator. First one from rockauto came in warped beyond belief and even with me sitting on it the thing would not budge! Ls swap mounting issue
Well ladies and gentlemen I was not firing on all cylinders yesterday . Was able to slide it back within 3/16” of the firewall and now both driveshafts fit like factory! Huge cost savings- bruisedbanana79

Ls swap mounting issue
Yes the the slider mounts are pushed as far rearward as possible only adjustment left in them would be pulling the engine forward. I do have about 2” between the head and the firewall which made me think something is off. Now the suburban had a diesel in it from the factory and I can not seem to...- bruisedbanana79

Ls swap mounting issue
Working on my 1985 ls swap (4.8, 4l60e, 208 TC). Used dirty dingo slider mounts and even with the engine pushed back as far as possible in those mounts my transmission crossmember and driveline is about 2.5” pushed forward. Obviously I can shorten the front driveshaft and have a new rear one...- bruisedbanana79

Shoooot between work and raising my toddler I am limited to a few hours a week. Much slower than some of my previous builds but I appreciate it! Next week I am taking the week off to stay home with the kiddo so hoping to make a decent amount of progress everyday during nap time- bruisedbanana79
